The Shubenacadie River is a river in Nova Scotia, Canada. It has a meander length of approximately 72 km from its source at Shubenacadie Grand Lake to its mouth at the historic seaport village of Maitland on Cobequid Bay, site of the building of the William D. Lawrence, the largest wooden ship ever built in Canada. The lower 30 km of the river (from the point where the Stewiacke River meets to the mouth) is tidal and the river experiences a tidal bore twice daily, with some bores reaching up to 3 m in height at certain points along the river. « what a great place to stay! The cottage has everything you need for a relaxing time. After watching a couple video's on how to catch mackerel I piced up 4 mackeral rig at Canadian Tire and caught about 20 right off the dock. There is a black cat thats friendly that had coffee with me a couple mornings lol. The wife and I spent many hours just sitting on the front porch looking at the bay. We will definitely stay here again when in the area. »

"Mon 3e séjour au Barrington. Le côté vieillot de l’hôtel est largement compensé par sa situation idéale, les dimensions des chambres et la gentillesse de son personnel. Nous sommes arrivés à 4 h du matin pour cause de vols retardés et avons été très bien accueillis par le réceptionniste. Je conseille vivement."
