I liked that it was near the beach. What I didn't like was our room was not cleaned once during our stay.Even the bed wasn't made.

Double booking hotel management!
I arrived at about 15:00 on day of booking to be told my booking had been cancelled on 10th June. I can find no trace of the cancellation on the day, no computer with me, just a confirmation of booking printout. Asked to leave! Expedia can find no documentation of cancellation. Hotels cannot find any cancellation nor can OYO so I presume the hotel cancelled, did not tell me but they had double booked. BEWARE! All accommodation in town booked due to major event. 2 coach loads in hotel could be the reason! No refund as yet from cancellation!

Okay for a night
Hotel is a bit dated, room was very very small, bed okay, pillow's too hard. View out the window was a derelict building and grounds. Dinner menu wasn't good. Didn't try breakfast. Staff member at reception was friendly and polite.

Missed opportunity to impress
Room was clean, however bedside light wasnt working. Request made for walk in shower due to mobility issues but wasn't available. No milk sachets in the hotel for the complimentary tea/coffee. Was advised that there were 5 steps, however there were at least 15 steps to the room which due mobility issues presented hazard. Breakfast was meant to be included however breakfast consisted of a packet of sandwiches, a bottle of juice, crisps and a packet of biscuits in a brown bag. Overall, disappointing.

DO NOT BOOK THIS HOTEL! After a long day of travel, and being soaking wet, we finally got to the hotel only to be told THEY OVERBOOKED and sent us an email saying we were thrown over to their sister hotel. I never received an email about an overbooking nor did I get any prior notification of being booked at another hotel. The horrible woman at the front desk kept insisting she had send an email notifying me they had overbooked but I never received such notification. The staff was rude and rushed us out the door so they could continue to shuffle through their papers. DO NOT STAY HERE. Choose somewhere else to spend your money.

Really unique property. We felt we were in the past, most guests relaxing in the lounge waiting to be called for dinner. Beautiful view of the water, the property was right on the promenade. The dinner was a set price and included 3 courses. It was excellent! We enjoyed our stay except for the door would creak with the breeze and kept us awake until we finally thought to jam something in between. But all in all, was a great place to stay and I would stay again.

Excellent stay " doon the watter "
Manager and Shona on reception were extremely nice and helpful, as were all the staff we came in contact with. The hotel was in an excellent position with a wonderful outlook on the Bay. our room was excellent, but in spite of being very busy Shona assisted us by upgrading to room with sea view ( Angus ) as soon as it became available without charge. Would heartily recommend this hotel to anyone wishing a break in Dunoon. Breakfast excellent and plentiful. Bar service excellent and moderately priced.

First Time in Scotland
Charming hotel with wonderful breakfast with a lovely view for morning photo taking. Shower/tub was difficult to get in and out, however.

Ok for a night
A bit run down. Guests smoking right next to the terrace door means walking through a smoky area to get from our room location to main part of hotel. Noticed a musty smell in the common lounge area. Food service at meals felt rushed.

When I went to the hotel, I found that it was closed. Why still recommend and accept me on the Internet? During the period, nobody informed me to change to other hotel. This made me unacceptable and unhappy.

Dunoon Right On The Front
Friendly staff and a good breakfast but the evening meal left much to be desired. My wife ordered gammon but was served to wafer thin cooked ham. We should have guessed that there was likely to be a catch when we were offered a 4 course meal plus coffee for £15.95 each. The room was adequate for the price but it was so small that there was no room for bed side tables. Overall I would say that we found it mixed.

Enjoyable stay
Excellent location to localities. Hotel friendly with nothing a problem. Breakfast and evening meals adequate and tasty. We had a double room on ground floor with view of bay which is comfortable and expected for price paid. Welcoming front of house staff too. Would return again. Husbands First time back here in 50 years as a teenager and was not disappointed.

Faulty Towers
Car park, rough piece of land. Room out dated. Half hearted attempt at a refurb. Shower grab rail all rust. Shower doors thick with dirt and scum. Not a nice place to stay. TV had to be tuned, no signal on it when we arrived. Dirty pillow all stained. Breakfast was OK.

Restful stay at hotel with great views
The hotel provided a good backdrop to a restful time spent in Dunoon.From the lounge area it has a wide panorama of the esplanade -the garden provide another restful area. The single room I occupied was presented to a high standard with a good level of storage space.In my estimation this hotel provides very good value for the facilities it provides.

dated hotel close to pebble beach
on arrival had to change room as shower didn't work,matress springs creaked and you could feel springs, evening meal was of small portions only had one meal there ,poor quality ,cutlery/tea pots etc not clean ( stainless steel utensils been in dish washer and not dried or polished ) staff at breakfast time was like watching ants who didn't know who had ordered what for breakfast.
