« It was clean and the staff offered to help with any bags or see us to our room. We stayed one night on our way through town. This is an old building. It was exactly what we expected and needed. If you want a new hotel this is not it. You will be disappointed. However, it is quiet, worn but clean, cozy, and very convenient at a very reasonable price. »

« The posting was incredibly dishonest. This is a basement. No view, tiny windows above eye level, noise from above late into the night, and stairwell that enters in the middle of the room which leads to the owner's house, I assume into the kitchen given the noise and the constant turning on and off of lights which kept us awake. The pictures show a front porch and the main house, no clear indication you'll be in the basement. If this were posted honestly as a basement unit at a fair price for...

« This is a lovely place to stay. The Cornmill is right down by the shore of the Cree estuary and Garlieston is a fabulous old village with the Harbour Inn providing good food (advisable to book, though, as our landlady kindly told us). Lovely walks, bike rides and places of historical interest in the vicinity. Katy at the Cornmill was kindness itself - her breakfasts are fantastic and if there's anything else you need, you only needed to ask. Hoping to go back, not least to take advantage of her...
