A grand hotel in a very upmarket area. Close enough to the coast to enjoy all the resorts. Definitely the smartest hotel weve ever stayed in. Enjoyed a lovely weekend here. Would 100% stay again.
The hotel was welcoming and the room was spacious, and comfortable, if a little stuffy. It was at the top of the building and the windows would only open a little. The room would have been less stuffy had the windows been opened before we arrived, and the blinds drawn. It was clean, and the linen was all good.
All in all, a pleasant stay.
An interesting project. Hotel very good but Dinner Menu very limited. However this resulted in finding two excellent restaurants!
Not easy to find shops in Poundbury as obviously any hoardings are not allowed.
The property was in character with the area and is in itself a fine building. Interesting inside with its multi-levels. Staff and service was excellent - all very helpful and attentive. Lucky with the weather sitting outside looking across the square was really great and our party of 10 had a very relaxed and interesting stay.
We had a great stay on Sunday Afternoon and evening at Duchess of Cornwall.
We were a group of 8
Service was fabulous Food was good quality Pub grub.
Room was spacious and clean.
A great place to stay.
One night business. Excellent for parking. Room very very well done, very comfortable. Breakfast and food options very good. The whole area felt safe. Would definitely book again.
Great, well decorated rooms with a decent size TV, comfortable bed and powerful shower. I had a double aspect room with lovely views along the streets. Evening food was fairly basic, but reasonably priced and good quality, as was breakfast. The multi level dining area/bar is really well presented with a large central staircase and outside seating is also good. Overall a very good stay.
We had a lovely stay here and would return again. Staff were friendly, polite and attentive.
There was a good selection for breakfast and all the meals we had during our stay was excellent.
Our room was great, with a nice cosy theme. The bed was too firm for me and my partner, though that is down to personal preference and no fault of the hotel. The hotel is in a quiet location in lovely surroundings with plenty to do in the surrounding areas. Highly recommend staying here if you want to explore Dorset.
On arrival we were advised that Unfortunately the hot water system had failed with this information it was our decision to stay. The hotel management and staff could not have been more helpful. The weather played a major factor in our terminating our stay a day early
Again the management were very understanding we will return as everyone has left a memorable impression.
Like Poundbury itself - the fancy exterior is a facade for lack of attentive service, food errors, sub-par food (typical 'Brakes Bros. fayre), no offer of solving issue of two days without hot water (could have comped us use of shower facilities at the day spa next door, fir example) resulting in my 82yo father returning home with a chill.
