Coed Y Brenin (7.5 miles) boasts thrilling mountain bike and walking trails, while you can feel the sand between your toes at golden beaches in Fairbourne and Barmouth (both within 9 miles). Climb aboard the charming vintage steam train at Fairbourne for a short journey to the ferry that takes you across to Barmouth Harbour. Or just walk straight from the front door up to quiet woodland trails just to the south of Dolgellau.
