« We enjoyed the area. The chalet was well equipped unfortunately everything you touched was really greasy. The cooker top was discussing. We only used the fridge and kettle throughout our stay thankfully I had mugs with us. Lots of cobwebs and spiders and a slug or snail across the carpet every night. To enter the bathroom you had to go in sideways. The sink was full of shaver hairs and shaving foam the toothbrush holder hadn't been cleaned for months. The toilet brush would have made you sick...

« Just arrived home from 7 nights in Whimbrel lodge, we are all gutted to be home. What a fantastic holiday we have all had. Walked in and we were stunned by the lodge it’s absolutely gorgeous, finished to such a high standard. Immaculately clean and we even had a bottle of ice cold Prosecco and a box of chocolates on arrival. Plenty towels for hot tub, which was also heated up and ready to go, it was very very clean! Staff are so lovely and friendly, anything you may need they are there happy...

« Served its purpose for a one night stop over, basic and a bit tired, stains on sofa and carpet, only one double sofa which sank when you sat on it so the third person had to sit on a hard dining chair. « Very spacious and clean. Nicely decored and homely. Everything you need is there and the host is very good and responsive to queries. The lodge is situated on a nice quiet camp site and has its own single carspace right outside. " On the first night, we had a fire alarm at 3 a.m. It took the night auditor 30 minutes to turn it off. No complimentary gesture or apology was offered. The hotel is outdated for a 4-star property. The bathroom silicone is moldy, the carpet is stained and needs a deep clean, and the room was very dusty. The reception staff were not helpful, the phone was not working in a room so hard to get the reception.. and when the shower temperature kept going from very hot to very cold. Coffee and tea were not refilled, which is disappointing for a 4-star hotel where better service and cleanliness are expected."
