We appreciate having the kitchen however the last guests left the dishes a bit greasy despite looking clean. We didn’t bring dishwasher tablets so did some dishwashing before we could start cooking. « This property was just lovely. It was clean, beautifully decorated, and nicely situated in the town of Callandar. The beds were super comfortable, and, in between our numerous activities, we made good use of the TV to watch the FIFA games. Our host, Joan, was friendly and attentive. The town itself was wonderful. It is small yet has great amenities, including a heritage museum, right next-door and a Legion just down the street with all sorts of special events going on. « The cottage is in terrible shape. It is for sale and the owners do not wish to do any renovations ( very many are necessary ). The dock and steps leading to it are very shaky and dangerous. The deck needs to be refininshed. The screen door does not close properly and lets bugs in. The BBQ does not work properly, it is disgustingly filthy and should be replaced. There is supposed to be a ping pong table, but there is not. Some items were missing, and it took 2 days to provide them. The heaters in...

« Very nice property! The host was very helpful once it was clear they somehow had missed our arrival to arrange for speedy cleanup, access to the property, and compensation. Nice property with access to water (very shallow very far, ideal for small children). Too bad we couldn’t make a fire because of the ban. Old building but nicely renovated. Be ready for at least a train a night that is hard to ignore due to proximity. »
