« It's very rare to find a place with so much peace and quiet and so much nature around it. These beautiful old trees... and all the plants, really something special. The best place you can find if you're looking for peace and quiet. There are good pubs within a few miles and the sea is not far away either. What more could you want? « We had a lovely 2 week holiday at Oyster cottage in Shaldon, everything that was promised in the description was there. A central position in the village, a 2 minute walk to the beach, cafés, pubs and restaurants all within walking distance. The botanical gardens are well worth a visit as the views are wonderful. The craft fair on the green was a lovely surprise. The little ferry between shaldon and teignmouth was a way to visit the nearby town but walking is also a possible option. A day trip...
