« At a distance the room and grounds look fabulous however, the shower lever was fused to the hot and cold so the temperature was not manageable so the bath option was tried, unfortunately, the hose was corroded and fell off when the taped were turned blasting hot water. The receptionist the next morning was totally unbothered and uninterested. It’s a real shame as everything else was superb and other staff really kind welcoming initially. Will not recommend until they have had more time with...

« Attractive old house close to seafront. I had to share a bathroom, but as the house wasn't full this didn't present a problem. »

« Bathrooms weren't terrible clean. Rooms were hot with tiny windows. Couldn't get i to my room and called, said they'd send so.eone out and call me when there. 40 minutes later called again and was helped over the phone.. no one arrived or called. Wandered around for ages trying to find the entrance, e entually found a fire es ape that was open and just walked in. The main door is actually numbered no 3.. thought this was a room.. no signs saying Brookval guest house. »

« This is the worst place I have ever stayed in. The photos do not reflect the disrepair of the place. The photos of the room showed towels and when we arrived there were no towels. We were unable to take a shower before going out to our party. Very disappointing after a very warm day. When we got into bed one side of the bed was broken and I collapsed onto the floor. Do not book this place. »

« Lovely Garden room. Rather bijou and a particularly small bathroom. I was concerned about noise from the restaurant but it was fine (we were on 1st floor). Luxury bedsheets and duvet and decent aircon. Staff all lovely. Breakfast was fine. I had salmon and scrambled eggs on the first morning. The salmon was pretty tasteless and the eggs were dry - very disappointing and not expected from this establishment. Next morning I had smashed avocado and poached eggs which were nicer, but not...

« Boiler not working hence no heating or hot water, could not have a shower and had to buy a bowl just to wash. Squatters sleeping on the sofas in the living room every night. Worst accomodation I have ever been in. »

« Very spacious, we had 2 armchairs in our room but there was a lounge and conservatory to use. The breakfast menu had a big choice. The garden was good to sit in with plenty of seating and you could help yourself to beverages and biscuits in the lounge. David and Rosemary are so nice and also Josie who helps them. Highly recommended. »
