« I wanted to love this hotel - right on the beach and within walking distance of the ferry and downtown. However, the inside left lots of room for improvement. Our room smelled of mildew and old cigarettes which sent my allergies into overdrive. The pillows had no support, do yourself a favor and bring your own if you don’t want to wake up with neck pain. There were a few smashed dead bugs on the inside of our window and some smears of who knows what on the wall. The bathroom also had some mold....

« Door to the room scratched so hard on the threshold that it was creating a groove into threshold. Bottom of door was held together by drywall screws. Also, there was a wash cloth draped over the shower curtain rod from a previous guest. Other than that, it was decent. »

« This worked well for us. Was in walking distance to the ferries to Mackinac Island as well as to the shuttles and the many shops and restaurants . Spent a leisure day visiting and getting acquainted with the city and then a day on the island enjoying the people and places there -- even had lunch at the Grand Hotel. Bed, linens, & towels were superb. Pool and Hot tub were great. Grab and go breakfast was OK. Hotel had discounts/coupons for the ferries and restaurants which helped keep costs down....
