« My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay in room 4 overlooking the marina. We also enjoyed eating in the restaurant that evening. The room was excellent, clean and comfortable. We sat out on the balcony and enjoyed the quiet peaceful evening. The meal was excellent and the view of the water made it nice. Our food came out hot and delicious. My only comment would be that the hushpuppies were either undercooked, too dry and not really edible. We asked the waitress about them, and she said...

« The property was very clean. There are plenty of towels and the kitchen is very well stocked. If you need an appliance, it's probably in the kitchen. The yard was well kept as well. The only down side was that it isn't as close to the water as we had expected. You can see the river, but to get to it, you basically need to drive. And the confederate flag flying on the beach is a little disconcerting. It deterred me from going down there. »

The host was very communicative over text she also has like a “business partner” that lives feet away from the property who keeps an eye out for her.Overall I just wanted a long weekend away with my family to kinda get together and relax in front of the river. « Cottage très propre et bien confortable avec tout ce dont nous avions besoin. Une vue fabuleuse sur le fleuve, une plage privée, un calme absolu, des balbuzards pêcheurs comme spectacle journalier.... Seuls points négatifs: salle de bain/ toilette vraiment petite, par contre fonctionnant très bien. Et les lits faisaient 130 cm de large( après vérification!)... Un peu étroit pour des couples. Malgré cela, nous avons passé une très bonne semaine, vraiment ressourçante et dépaysante! »

« What a hidden gem of a place! A gorgeous river cottage overlooking the St James River. Grateful to be immersed in a natural rural atmosphere and also so close to many things to do both at the cottage and near Williamsburg. We swam, walked the beach, kayaked and fished! A magical sun rising over the StJames River takes one’s breathe away! I understand why people come back here. It’s a very special place. Reminds me of being on a lake which reminds me of my childhood! The Ferry is close, free...

« The staff was great and the room was excellent. However we were disappointed in the water park. We couldn't access the hot tubs and the size of the Waterpark was very small and geared for the majority to kids. We've been to two other lodges and this one is by far the smallest and least enjoyable as adults. The assortment of other activities was very nice as well. Lazer tag, rock mining, ice-cream shop and a big arcade. Kids Im sure were having fun. 20 dollars a day to park was a big let down as...
