« There was a situation where I was followed by someone on a morning walk nearby the hotel and as soon as I entered the hotel and asked for them to help me, the 2 men at the front desk quickly helped by one going outside to find the man and one immediately calling the police. I felt safe and cared for and although Portland has some bad eggs roaming around I would stay here again because of how safe and cared for the staff made me feel. « The lobby and gym are very nice. The rooms are a different story. Getting out of the elevator, you smell something like a dog kennel odor. Our room was the same and very musty. Bathroom moldy (beware people with breathing issues like me). All very shabby and loud at night, with pipes banging, hearing people flushing toilets, and a sound something like a whirlpool sound coming from upstairs all night. Bathroom had hair throughout it. « Tres bon emplacement a Portland, possibilité d’être à pied en hyper centre, personnel très efficace, pas de petit déjeuner, mais un excellent café et des cookies frais dans le séjour de l’hôtel le matin ! Excellent rapport qualité prix pour Portland. À noter : en restant 2 nuits, pas de service de chambre le deuxième jour, ce qui est un peu dommage..sans changer le linge, vider les poubelles et remettre de l’eau et du café aurait été parfait ! »

« We came to the Royal Sonesta last minute after a very bad experience at another hotel in town and they were perfect. The front desk was very helpful in getting our room arranged and explaining the details. The room was large and clean, very fun designs and worked great. The bed was by far the best bed I've ever slept in at a hotel in my life and made the entire stay worth it.
