This is centrally located in greater Des Moines. Just minutes from downtown and Wells Fargo Arena. West Des Moines and the other suburbs are just 10 minutes away. This is a large ranch-style home. It has a private patio with fire pit and grill, bags, plenty of parking, and tons of room to spread out. We stock almost everything you need.
Toothbrushes, toothpaste, Advil, face towelettes, shampoo, conditioner, luxury towels and linens, plenty of pillows, fully outfitted kitchen, children's accommodations (pack-and-play), ice machine, and the list goes on. We pay attention to all the details so you don't have to!
The main floor has 4 bedrooms with 2 Jack and Jill style bathrooms. In each bedroom there is a private sink room with vanity and 4 foot mirror. Then between the 2 bedrooms, there is another room with shared toilet and tub/shower combination. On the main floor there is also a guest bathroom with a washer and dryer. There is also a large open-concept kitchen and dining room, and a large living room. The living room includes a 75" tv, two couches, a recliner, a desk, and a gas-start fireplace stocked with extra wood.
The downstairs has another room with 2 Bunk Beds (top bunk single and bottom bunk full) as well as a full bathroom. The rest of the 2000 sq. foot basement is set up for entertainment or just taking it easy. It has it all- Pop-A-Shot basketball, pool table, professional ping-pong table, Golden Tee arcade game, Mega-Touch bar-top game, classic sit-down arcade game with 60 games, the latest board games for young and old, dedicated beer-pong table, a bar, refrigerator, ice machine, 75" tv with large couch pit area, and tables with additional seating as well.
This home is one of kind in Des Moines. But wait...THERE'S MORE!! I own the Four Seasons Apartments next to the house. THERE, YOU HAVE FULL ACCESS TO THE POOLS AND CLUBHOUSE! The clubhouse offers a complete home gym, saunas, pool table, and a ping pong table. All of this is at the property right next to the house (about 400 feet to the pool).This has been one of the top properties on Evolve for the last year.

Our family of 5 adults and 4 children stayed at the Woodland house from December 21 to 25. Our daughter's family of 5 that lives in the area joined us during the day. The house has plenty of room up and down. The basement area was especially nice for the kids and adults to play with plenty of space for cards, playing pool or ping pong. Full size laundry was very helpful. We contacted the host a couple times for needed items (wine glasses and tv remotes). They responded in a timely manner. Beds were very comfortable and there were more than enough towels. The kitchen has plenty of plates, glasses, cups and service ware. I recommend more dish towels in the kitchen and an additional blanket available for each bed. The bedroom with the king bed was very cool at night. Overall, we had a wonderful time spending time together in a home with plenty of space for a large group.

Golf simulator wasn’t working which was our favorite game. Asked to keep Christmas decorations up since we were celebrating Christmas but that didn’t happen. Place needs thorough cleaning. Some mold on walls. Garbage under beds.

This was a perfect place for my 2 siblings, their spouses, and my adult special needs nephew to stay for our cousin reunion and visit to the Iowa State Fair! The basement rec room is amazing! All appliances were in good working order and we loved using the new washer & dryer. The amenities left in the bathroom were more than you get in hotels. Towel quality and size were great. NO postage stamp size bath towels here! We grew up in Des Moines in the 50’s & 60’s so we felt very much at home here. Loved the seclusion and quiet of the location. Easy to get everywhere from here. Will DEFINITELY rebook for future family get togethers.

We had 11 adults and 2 kids. I felt the bedrooms upstairs were good and used pack n play supplied. My husband and I slept down in the room that had a table and pac man video machine in basement. We had our double high air mattress in there, but I feel the owners could put a queen size bed in that room cause it connects to bathroom. Our other single adult slept on bunkbeds in basement but no privacy in main part of basement. We were mostly couples so didn’t utilize all the beds upstairs. There were 2 big refrigerators which was great. Kitchen was great and lots of seating. Had condiments and spices there. Would stay here again. Great location near Grays Lake and winery.

We enjoyed the house as expected!! We entertained ourselves with the games in the basement!! Loved the big dining room table for cards. It was great having all the bathrooms and bedroom space for our family!! He thinks of details in the house. We would love to stay at his other properties and even go to this one again.

The home is set up, so there is plenty of space for everyone. There is an outdoor pool very close to the house which everyone enjoyed. The location is wonderful. It was close to tourist attractions and to grocery stores.

This property is misrepresented as a 5 bedroom when it's really a 4. We weren't advised that the indoor pool was drained in the summer and we were unable to swim as it rained during our stay. We were also provided with the wrong access code for the house. It took 45 minutes and multiple attempts by me (phone calls, texts, and vrbo chat) and vrbo to get in touch with the host. We advised host of the misrepresentations of the bedrooms and amenities along with housekeeping deficiencies. The host did replace the filthy/unusable grill and a lightbulb, but adamantly insisted the housekeeping issues I tried to bring to his attention were fabricated despite photographic proof. He became condescending, erratic, and hostile in his messages to me, going so far as to blame me for my inability to contact him during check in. I didn't feel safe enough for my family to live out our stay so we checked out early. He refused any sort of compensation/refund. We have a case open with VRBO regarding this matter. He has since altered his listing to remove the misleading photo of the bunk room as well as changed some of the descriptions. However, still up and incorrect are the indoor pool, 6 toilets (there are only 4), and the ability to sleep 25 (maybe if people are okay sleeping on the floor). I could go on, but due to the character limits I’m left to leave it at that.

The house was nice! It is an older house that has been remodeled. Obviously, like with any older house, there were some small issues but Steven took care of them immediately. Don't expect anything fancy, but for the price, it was great! The game room downstairs was awesome to keep kids entertained! We would definitely stay there again.
