    This charming beach house has plenty of room for everyone! Located just steps from your own private sandy beach on the Mississippi Sound and a short stroll to the Gulf, this home has a chef-ready kitchen, wraparound porch and large private deck.



    The Great Room offers picturesque views of the Mississippi Sound and opens to beautiful wraparound porches that let you enjoy the sea breeze and the sun or shade. The Great Room is furnished with a comfortable couch that doubles as a sleeper sofa and loveseat.



    The well-appointed kitchen is equipped with everything you need to prepare meals at home, including an oven/cooktop, cookware, microwave, dishwasher, coffee maker, blender, toaster, waffle iron, knife block, mixer, and double sink.

The biggest issue was no internet for the entire stay. Apparently the bill had not been paid for 10 months and the owner was not willing to rectify the situation. There were 4 spoons and 4 forks for a house that accommodates 10 people. Light bulbs were out, stove knob missing, doors to outside wouldn't stay closed unless locked, unsecured glass in windows, things like that..

Good location and plenty of room.

Overall it was a good trip. The property needed some minor maintenance. New batteries in tv remote, cabinets had missing door knobs, etc.

Good place to stay.

The only thing I would fix is to have staff to make coffee. Because if you are coming in late and have not went to the store yet. maybe some little big pan. It's was a very beautiful quiet and roomy. I will rent it again.

Good vacation

The price-point of this beach house was adequate for the accommodations. Location was good. House was clean and we had everything we needed. Kitchen could benefit from a few items: scissors, a proper cookie sheet. We had to reconnect the dryer vent, it was venting into the house but it just needs to be re-attached more securely. The windows are probably the main complaint. They need to be replaced. Most have no screens, one had no outer frame and we had to tape the window glass to keep it from falling out, condensation builds up inside many of the windows obscuring the view outside.

Short trip but was amazing

Our family of 6 had a wonderful time. The bay side was so peaceful and beautiful. It’s had a nice beach and we enjoyed fishing from there. We loved the room to spread out. Was just a short 5 min walk to the ocean side. Which was amazingly beautiful in the mornings for sunrise. The king sized beds were so comfy. The queen wasn’t as nice but still good. The kitchen island was so nice and large and we played lots of cards on the dining table. I would suggest to add a few rugs for comfort and also please take a look at some of the deck boards that need replacing. Also we saw a few ants in the downstairs bathroom. Overall we loved it and had a great time

Pretty House but a bit rough around the edges

I love the bayside location of this house, and fact that all of the rooms have king or queen beds. The house is pretty, but the decks are in serious need of repair (salt air). The steps going up to the entryway are rough, uneven and tilted. The kitchen was woefully understocked. There were no hot pads, kitchen towels, or spices—not even salt and pepper. If you rent, come prepared with all your kitchen basics. Also, bring any beach items you might want, there are none at the house.

Perfect beach vacation

We had 9 people in our group, 6 adults and 3 teens. The house fit us all very comfortably. The beach was right out the back door! I found more shells and beach glass on our section of beach than I did anywhere else we looked. The beds were comfortable and everything was very clean. The only issues we had were that there were no spices or anything for cooking, not even salt and pepper, but that's not a big deal, just something to be aware of. We would definitely stay here again!

Nice Get Away

The house and room sizes were nice. We needed a little more seating in the living room, but we just brought in chairs from the dinning room. We enjoyed the views from both decks. Overall we had a nice vacation on the island.

Great time!

We had a great time. This house slept all 7 of us comfortably and the commons areas are spacious and comfortable. Dauphin Island is a fun, laid back, beach experience. The bayside waters were calm and warm and the west end beach is just a couple of minutes away. We’ll be back!

Great location

It’s a perfect location on the bay and a short 4 min walk to the beach. We ended up spending more time on the bay side beach because it got so windy on the Gulf side. We watched the sunset from the back deck! The inside of the house was in pretty good shape and it was clean! It is nicely laid out with plenty of space for the 4 of us. Beverage fridge in the kitchen was helpful. The kitchen had stuff for cooking, but it was completely disorganized and we had to constantly hunt for items. Outside, the wood flooring of the deck seemed to be recently updated, but the stairs from the upper deck to the backyard need replaced badly. Many screens were torn and also needed replaced. Also, we were surprised there was no beach gear at the house. Every rental I’ve stayed in at the beach usually has a supply of chairs and umbrellas - there was none of that which I found very unusual. All in all we had a great trip and are considering going back again next year!

Bayside Beauty

We found the house very clean and comfortable, and we loved the decks and the view of the Bridge. We needed extra blankets, as well as sheets for the fold-out sleeper sofa. There were plenty of towels but not enough extra linens for the cool nights. There is a minor repair on the bed post in the larger bedroom upstairs that needs attention. but we had a wonderful stay and will come again!

Overall we had an excellent stay at this property, and the views of the bay were amazing. Our young children had an excellent time on the beach. I was slightly disappointed with the cleanliness of the property when we checked in, something that is very noticeable when traveling with my two toddlers. The house had been cleaned, countertops were clean, and beds were made. My main complaint was the floors were still rather dirty. There is a definite musty smell to the house as well. Does the view and ample bedroom space make up for this? Most likely, but I feel it's notable. We would definitely travel back to the area, not sure on if we would go to the same property.

Whoever took the pictures for this property deserves a raise, because the pics are much better than the reality of the property..Everything is incredibly outdated and falling apart..The location relative to the bay is nice, but that’s were the positives stop..The neighboring house on the West side is apparently owned by the owner of Micro Comm, the provider of internet for the island..He appears to be using the house as a business location for his workers and storage for materials..Several of his work trucks, large rolls of fiber optic cable, etc..On several occasions, 5-6 of his workers just hung out all day talking outside..Annoying..I do not recommend this property.

Rainy day blues

Our trip was a bummer but not because of the house. We had terrible weather the entire stay. The house has plenty of room to spread out and enjoy. It does need new windows and doors desperately. The kitchen could use a few more basic supplies. The deck furniture definitely needs to be replaced. The location is great and easy to walk over to the gulf side. We saw dolphins from the deck and enjoyed watching others fish. It was our first time on the island and we would definitely try again at a less rainy time of year! We appreciated all the large beds as we were a party without kids. It's a nice quiet place to enjoy the water.

Wonderful Stay

We really enjoyed our stay at Surf ‘n Turf! This house had all we needed for cooking all our meals at home. I especially loved being able to watch my children play on the beach while I put their lunch together. We went to the gulf side to swim a few times, and it was only a short walk. We brought hammocks and relaxed under the house at night and enjoyed the most beautiful sunsets! We recommend buying groceries at Greer’s before getting on the island and getting seafood from Skinner’s on the island. The only trouble we had was the upstairs tub leaked into the kitchen below, so we didn’t use it. Also the house next door didn’t have residents and the porch lights were on over there all day/night which meant the master bedroom was never very dark. We noticed the upstairs got very warm during the day, but we found if we shut the bedroom doors it stayed much cooler. We had such an amazing time on Dauphin Island!

Loved the location. The home was perfect for our group. We loved the peaceful setting.

We so enjoyed it. Windows need replacing. The upstairs master bath is very rotten around the inside trim. A lift on the outside for luggage, etc would be wonderful. We would come back.

Everything we hoped for.

my oldest daughter is getting married on the 30th so I wanted to take her on a little pre wedding vaca; this place was perfect! Just as described. loved stepping off the back steps and having the beach right in the backyard. Bonus surprise were all of the seashells we found everyday along the shoreline. Not one disappointment over our weekend. we used three of the four bedrooms and everyone said their beds were comfy. They are more firm than soft, but just what we needed after long days walking the beach. (We prefer firmness due to back issues.) 100% would stay here again. If we come back to Dauphin Island, I don’t want to rent any other place.

Surf and turf aka Mosquitoes are us

This property is in dire need of repairs and upkeep. The cleaning could have been done better. The door handles were falling off. The outside furniture needs to be replaced. It was rusted out and torn. The outside electric outlet was falling out of the socket. The deck all around the house needs to be replaced. Planks on the boardwalk were missing or pulled up and on the lawn. The pictures from website were misleading!!

We loved this property! Management was very quick to respond to any questions or assistance that we needed. Everyone was very friendly and the house was great! We would definitely stay here again.
