Recently renovated to an impressive standard, Oystercatcher combines original character, including exposed timber beams, with stylish interiors and high-quality modern comforts. The spacious open-plan living area provides a welcoming place to relax after a day exploring the island, while the beautifully appointed kitchen and dining space make leisurely breakfasts and relaxed evening meals a pleasure. There are two generous bedrooms and two bathrooms, including a king-size bedroom with its own en-suite shower room, offering excellent comfort and privacy. Smart TVs, Wi-Fi and thoughtfully chosen furnishings complete the luxurious feel. Outside, guests can sit back and enjoy the fresh Manx air and beautiful rural and coastal surroundings, with private parking also provided.

The cottage forms part of historic Creglea Farm, a working family farm with a fascinating wartime story. During the Second World War, buildings here formed part of RAF Dalby, with areas now occupied by the cottages once used as NAAFI facilities. Today, the setting is wonderfully tranquil, with sheep and cattle grazing nearby and the spectacular Manx coastline on the doorstep.

Oystercatcher is superbly positioned for discovering one of the Isle of Man’s most beautiful corners. Nearby Niarbyl Bay is famed for its dramatic coastal scenery, traditional thatched cottages and magnificent sunsets. On clear days, views stretch across the Irish Sea towards the Mountains of Mourne, while the surrounding waters offer opportunities to spot seabirds, seals and even basking sharks during the warmer months. Niarbyl is also a registered Dark Sky Discovery Site, making clear evenings particularly memorable.

Walkers will be spoilt for choice. The renowned Raad ny Foillan coastal footpath passes through this part of the island, with spectacular routes towards Port Erin in one direction and Peel in the other. Follow the coast north through picturesque Glen Maye, with its woodland and waterfall, before continuing towards Peel Hill, Peel Castle and Fenella Beach, or head south across dramatic moorland towards Bradda Head and Port Erin.

A short drive brings you to the historic seaside town of Peel, where you can explore Peel Castle, wander around the harbour or simply enjoy an ice cream beside the beach. Travel south to Port Erin for its sweeping sandy bay, watersports and heritage railway, or continue exploring to discover the island’s ancient monuments, secluded coves and spectacular viewpoints. With the Isle of Man compact enough to explore with ease, Douglas, Castletown, the famous TT course and many of the island’s best-loved attractions are all within reach.
