Helen Christmas visit
We booked this home for our family of 7 during our first time at the Helen Georgia Christmas festival. With 3 bedrooms and 2 1/2 baths (plus an extra shower in the laundry) it was more than adequate for us. The property is beautiful with no neighbors in sight. Beds were comfortable. Plenty of space to spread out. It's about 30 minutes or so from Helen with a tavern type bar about halfway in between that had good food. All of the beds are upstairs but there are a couple of settee chairs and a couch in the living room that can be used for sleeping too. The setting is beautiful and the home well maintained. We even saw multiple deer while there! Couldn't have asked for a nicer place or better owners. Thanks for sharing your home with us!

Mountain View Vacation
Lovely, well cared for property. We saw cardinals, deer, rabbits, and fireflies on our visit. Plenty of room for family to stretch out and relax after daily outings to Helen, hiking, gold mine tour, kayaking.

Great house!
House met all of our needs for a family wedding weekend! Was glad to have a truck, as the driveway is long, bumpy, steep in parts and gravel. I would stay here again when traveling to Dahlonega. Many great winery’s in the surrounding area!

Our group of four ladies LOVED this property. The location was absolutely beautiful (and REMOTE, which was great!). Home and furnishings were “like new!” We would definitely stay here again!

Perfect location for long weekend in Dahlonega
My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed staying at this house - we have stayed in the area many times over the past 20 years and this was our favorite place we have stayed! The location was perfect to visit local wineries and the square, and this property and the grounds were just beautiful! Very peaceful snd relaxing place to stay!

Vast property with many locations to take in the forest views and tranquility. Beautiful and comfortable accommodations inside and out. Our group of ladies really enjoyed staying here. There was plenty of room, the house was well provisioned and it was so peaceful and beautiful. Coffee with red headed woodpeckers and wild turkeys, and countless song birds. The house is away from the noise of town but close to everywhere we wanted to go. It’s a real slice of paradise.

Loved the decor and condition of property. Hard to believe it was built there, much less being so nice. Very quiet and isolated. Wish we could have spent a few more days. If you go, you won't be disappointed. Just be sure you have some decent ground clearance on your car...my Honda Civic scraped a couple times, but we managed. :)

Superb stay
The property was a real showplace. Much attention to detail. Called the owner and thanked him and his family to allow us to stay. Convenient to town. A great place for families with diversity of interests and desire to also spend a great time together. Outdoors options for hiking, small town discover, and university offered a great plus. We did not need to talk with property manager but there were options for help availability posted prominently.

Great place!
Great place. Owners were nice enough to let us host our small casual wedding rehearsal gathering here. Plenty of space and the deck was awesome. Kitchen well stocked and bathroom were nice. Grounds were pretty. Only negative is the drive up the mountain. Depending on what car you drive it can be a little dicey especially in the dark.

Hands down the cleanest VRBO house we’ve ever stayed in! Cozy and comfortable house and grounds. Our kids loved doing Easter egg hunts in the front yard and taking walks down the driveway (more like hiking in some places!)

Stunning home
This home is exactly as advertised and stunning. Extremely clean and wonderful hosts. Secluded, but perfect location for being 20-30 min from Vogel State Park, Unicoi State Park, Amicalola Falls and much more. Easy check in and very comfortable stay and amenities. Beds are super comfy and having big screen tv, netflix, hulu, etc. made evenings very relaxing. The drive way is too steep for us to stay again, but worked with our SUV. We really loved our stay and hosts for this vacation spot.

Beautiful home - perfect for a visit to the North Georgia Mountains!
Everything about this home is beautiful! Not far from Dahlonega and you can tell it is lovingly cared for, and a kitchen with everything we needed. Plenty of room for our group of six adults to cook, eat, relax by the fireplace. The Peggy is great to work with! We would definitely visit again!

Gorgeous, charming home
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here at the swag house. What a gorgeous home, immaculate, spacious yet cozy, warm and charming gem in the middle of the woods, at the foothills of the mountains. The long gravel path can be a little difficult to navigate in some spots, but once you do it the first time, it becomes easier every time you enter and exit the property. This home had everything in more that we could’ve dreamed of! We highly recommend this rental home and would definitely visit again.

This is a beautiful, well appointed house. . Not a typical rental by any means. The owners are sharing their very private, well decorated , secluded family home. We had a wonderful time and would definitely rent again. Loved the Dahlonega area!

Perfect spot for family winery weekend!
This house is perfect for those looking to be in a central location to the wineries! My sisters, our mom and niece truly enjoyed our stay at the Swag house! Everything was just as described and even decorated so cute for fall! There is tons of spread out room, clean amenities and fun things to do all around! We did a few nearby hikes, visited 4 wineries and enjoyed dinner at Grapevines. Our weekend getaway was perfect and the swag house made us feel at home! Can’t wait to visit again soon!

Peaceful Get Away
We stayed at the Swag house over my birthday weekend. It was a lovely home far off the road so it was very quiet and peaceful. I very much enjoyed mornings on the front porch, drinking coffee and watching the humming birds. I was with my husband and another couple. The only thing that I think the listing should mention is that there is a man who lives in the garage apartment attached to the main home. The owner did let me know this after I booked. This property is so secluded that I wouldn't have booked this spot if it was a girls only weekend but was fine staying there with my husband and I would absolutely stay here again. thank you for having us!

Wonderful and homey gathering space
Staying at the Swag House during our wedding weekend was a wonderful choice. The house was perfect for the bridesmaids to stay in and get ready at, and we even hosted a small rehearsal dinner for family in town. There is plenty of space to gather and enjoy great conversation, whether it's the front porch, back porch, or sun room. Very comfy beds and love the master bathroom. Also love all the homey touches throughout.

Beautiful home, great location. If you drive anything other than an SUV/Jeep....good luck. The home sits on an unpaved hill. I was stuck mid-way up the hill. The house manager Nathan (very nice man) was able to get one of his buddies to rescue me (hoooorayyyy 😁). I would definitely recommend this home.

Lovely stay with great location
The house was very comfortable and well equipped with everything we needed to relax and enjoy our stay. My fiancé and I were there for a weekend with our mothers to look at wedding venues in Dahlonega. We were able to easily get to the vineyards and downtown, and loved having the house to make our own breakfasts and relax at at the end of the day. The driveway is a bit of an adventure, but luckily we drive a Subaru Outback, and it lD worth it for the serene and private area. Overall a great stay in a well kept home.

Thank you so much for the review. As of August 19th we now have 560 feet of new asphalt on the driveway which makes the drive much less adventurous. We hope your next stay you will enjoy the scenic drive with ease. Much gratitude! The McClure family

Awesome house and property
We loved everything about the house and property. Sitting on the front porch in the morning with my coffee was so relaxing. The grill that was available to us was really nice. My first time grilling and no problems. We met Josh who was very nice and offered help should we need it. We felt very safe there. I couldn’t get the DVD player to work but was not a problem. The house is close to everything and we even tried Cavender Winery and loved it. Thanks for the recommendation. The house was very clean with ample paper products and towels. The driveway was interesting but not a problem. We loved staying there and would stay again and recommend it to others. Thank you for sharing your beautiful home with us

Great Family Stay!
We recently stayed at the Swag House so my family, scattered throughout Florida and Georgia, could reconnect. What a great weekend! Between shopping & eating in downtown Dahlonega and playing board games til the wee hours in the house, it was just what our family needed! Thanks so much to Peggy for answering all of my emails promptly and telling me all the good places to go. We really appreciate it. Had a couple of minor issues (disposal in kitchen and front doorknob that we thought we broke) both of which were addressed right away via email and phone call follow up! The house is set way back from the road and the grounds are so peaceful and beautiful. Our granddaughter loved running around looking for the bunnies. It was a perfect weekend and we hope to return in the future.
