So the room itself was fine but either they had just fumigated the hotel or were using extremely potent cleaning products. We turned on fans and left the room for 3 hours and even then it was the same. We checked out without spending the night.

Very quaint, and if you like old,rustic cottages (we do) these were great. The tiny bathroom with skeleton key locks were a bit smaller than expected but we managed. If you drive a large car because you don't fit behind the wheel of a compact you may not fit in the bathroom.

Great place to stay in Custer, SD
These cottages are adorable. They are well kept since 1937! My cabin was small but clean. The office ladies were very nice to chat with. I would definitely stay here again!

I nice, quaint place. Staff was prompt in being very helpful. Everything worked, but it seems a renovation is going to be needed fairly soon. The old-fashioned wall heater is probably not very efficient - especially at keeping the bathroom warm.

Cute, retro cabin style setting. Small bathroom but effecient and hot water. We had 2 bedroom option, glad we did . The first bed was sprung and lumpy, the other was better. Sort of like staying in your uncle's old fishing cabin. Easy walk to town, restaurants and shopping.

This is an old style motor court. The rooms are small but comfortable. The staff was outstanding. They were gave great suggestions on eateries and scenic drives. Nice touch with the grab and go breakfast and bags of ice. Thanks for a great stay.

Although it is not really a great place for the handicapped it is was a wonderful experience. The staff was awesome and went above and beyond to help make our one night stay wonderful. The beds are the best I have slept in while traveling.

It looked SO cute from the outside. But when you go in, you realize the infrastructure is bad. There's no updating, it's very small, it takes, literally, 3 minutes for the water in the sink to heat up. The TV didn't work on local channels. The floor is slanted, and everything is old. It said breakfast was included. What it is is "grab and go." Not a great experience.

The place is basic and staff were very nice but unfortunately there was no hot water for my one night stay. Staff was very apologetic but a cool shower was unwelcome

Love this little gem.
We arrived in later then planned and called to let them know what time we would be arriving. She was waiting for us as we pulled in. Cute and comfy room. Nicest staff. Looking forward to our next stay.
