My happy place
The lake holds wonderful memories for me. This property was close to the place I spent all my summers from 1 year old until I graduated from high school. After that I sometimes returned with my family but until this week I hadn’t been there in about 45 years. The place is SO peaceful. As a young person they would have fun with water sports, swimming and fishing.

Wonderful Home with Breathtaking Lake View
Our family group of 10 adults and a 2 year old had a wonderful time at this beautiful lake home. The home is efficiently laid out and offered everything we needed. We enjoyed the beautiful sunset views and used the fire pit often. We are looking forward to returning next year!

Excellent Week on Lake Alex
Wow what a beautiful cabin that immediately felt like home. We had 9 people, with kids from 5-11 and everyone had their own bed and space. I appreciated that the cabin was kid friendly, from a step stool to wash hands, to games, to the sand play space. We loved all the different areas for gathering- or taking time for yourself. We read books, played board games, and had fires. We even played BINGO outside on the deck space (above the boat house). We had our own boat but the kids LOVED all the lake amenities (Lily Pad, Lazy Bunz, and kayaks). The sunsets were spectacular and the lake is so clear. Everything about our stay was 5 stars- thank you for sharing your space with us :) *contacting Kris was so easy when we had questions! I'd recommend this lake home to anyone

Great Memorial Day find
We have rented a home for the long weekend the last few years and this spot was the unanimous favorite! The hosts have thought of everything and then some. Our kids loved being able to use the lily pad and we all appreciated the games. Overall an outstanding stay!

1 week + 3 couples = 5 stars
All day everyday the view of the lake was beautiful. Three couples spent a week together relaxing both inside and out, together and privately. We enjoyed the kayaks and the dock came in handy when our friends boated over to get us. Excellent choice to have the fire pit ready to go!

Amazing property - amazing views - amazing vacation!
Amazing property - amazing views - amazing vacation! My family of 11 enjoyed our time together in this lake home. There was ample space inside and out! Things that I really appreciated about this home, (besides the obvious location, views and wonderful Lake Alexander…) *Well appointed kitchen - I love to cook and was so thrilled to have everything I needed and more. Kuddos for this like good knives and quality cookware, dishes etc *Comfortable beds with quality linens and bedding. Extra blankets. Fans in each bedroom space. *Bathroom amenities - plush towels provided and baskets of toiletries should you have forgotten anything *Lovely landscaping and fire pit. There were beautiful potted flowers around the property. Outdoor seating/patio with view of the lake and dock *Games and TV with many viewing options for those rainy days. *Lily pad on-site for swimming/floating *Quality cleaning supplies - yep, cleaning. With a family of 11 it was so nice to have access to cleaning supplies and equipment to keep or space fresh and tidy! All in all we had a great time at Kris and Nellies lake home. We rented a pontoon and brought along our SUP boards to experience everything that Lake Alexander had to offer - crystal clear water - great fishing - swimming. I would definitely recommend this home for your family vacation. I look forward to the opportunity to visit again :)

Phenomenal Family Week
This is an amazing property on a beautiful lake! Every detail about the property is thought out. The kitchen had absolutely everything we needed. The bedrooms are very comfortable and accommodated everyone in our group. When we had a question about garbage pick up, the owners were quick to respond. All in all, we loved our time on the lake and will be looking to book again !!!

The house was clean, wellmai rained as was the lake area. We’ll applied with all you need to make your stay convient. Close to many attractions. Beautiful area for walking and swimming. Fantastic Lake House
We wanted to experience what it’s like to stay on a non-resort lake, and this property exceeded all expectations. Beautiful view from the living room, super nice modem updates, fire pit, and our favorite was sitting on the patio above the boat house watching the spectacular sunsets. The only bad part was having to leave!

Warm and welcoming
This property is perfect for a large family or friends group. Large kitchen area, cozy family room, great game table, sleeps 14 with an amazing bunk room! Beautifully decorated and the attention to detail is second to none. From the moment we opened the door, we felt the warmth that this property exudes. We are hoping to return next October for our annual visit "up north!"

This property is stunning! The house is well updated with plenty of space and sleeping arrangements for everyone. Immaculately clean! The lake is spectacular and perfect for fishing and swimming, even with younger kids. We also appreciated their selection of board games and puzzles.

Great relaxing getaway
A great, quiet getaway vacation spot. Amazing sunsets, beautiful clear lake, lots of loons calling. Our grandsons enjoyed fishing every day and had fun catching sunnies, bass, and even a muskie! The cabin was charming, extremely clean, well stocked, and very welcoming.

Everything about our stay was wonderful! We would recommend this home to anyone! It was beautiful inside and out with great attention to detail. The lake is very clear and has a nice sandy bottom around the dock. We had a fun time with family and would definitely stay again!

Breathtaking Property
We were looking for a place to take our three teens to get away, relax, explore, and spend time together. This was a perfect fit! Clean, beautifully laid out property with so many beneficial amenities like kayaks, a dock for fishing, lily pad, lovely patio overlooking the lake and fire pit. Beautiful dining area with big windows and gorgeous trees. We saw many deer on our walks! Well stocked kitchen and fantastic location! Amazing sunsets every night! Very hospitable and helpful hosts!

There were loons playing right off the end of the dock! The fire pit was wonderful and they had already built a fire for us before we arrived. The road in through the forest was gorgeous and provided a safe place for long walks in the woods. Highly recommended!

We spent a weekend and it was very comfortable. Excellent kitchen and bathrooms. The down stairs was great with the couchs and TV, excellent area for kids to hang out. Nice dock with place to tie up the boat and place to sit and enjoy the lake view. The drive in is realy cool the way the trees cover the road. Loction was 10 mintues away from conveince store for gas, bait, odds and ends. Would recommend the landing on the north side closes to HWY 10. Kris was on the spot in answering questions and very easy to work with. Will keep this place on the return to list. Did not find the walleye but did find northers around 24"

Wonderful Visit!
The house was clean and comfortable and we especially enjoyed the wood fireplace. The kitchen was well equipped for serious cooking. The surroundings are beautiful with the lake in front and a majestic tall pine forest in back. We took long walks and enjoyed the quiet at this time of the year. Fall is a great time to stay here! The host was responsive to questions and flexible, which was great in our situation. It was a wonderful visit!

Kris and Nellie's place is beautiful, cozy and comfortable! The serenity of the lake and loons and nighttime skies/stars were just what we need for a getaway. The pictures are 100% accurate, but it's even better in person! I think our favorite part was every time we went to look for something in the kitchen we found it within a couple minutes and continued to marvel at our hosts' thoughtfulness to provide literally everything we needed... and more!

A Truly Charming Cabin and Lake
This house is better than the pictures show. What a wonderful gem in Minnesota lakes country. House was very clean and nicely furnished. Plenty of room for people to sleep. The three bedrooms were roomy and the bunk-bed area looked very inviting. Not many steps down to the lake and while there was no beach area, the water is shallow with a sandy bottom nearly weed-free. Overall one of the best VRBOs we have stayed at in Minnesota. Already thinking about planning a trip back!

This cabin is the perfect place to stay! It has everything you’ll need for your stay. The kitchen is fully stocked-the only thing I brought from home was my crockpot. It’s on a sandy shore with amazing sunsets. We enjoyed our stay and plan to stay again.

Everything was perfect for a little get away. Loved the bunk beds for the kids. The Lilly pad in the lake was a huge hit. Lovely fire pit and grill area! Super clean and nice home! They literally thought of everything you would need. Can't really think of any way this stay could have been any better! Impressive sunsets every night overlooking the lake. Definitely recommend staying here. Kris and Nellie are wonderful hosts, and are very responsive if you have any questions at all.

Quick Mini-Vacation
We were able to squeeze in a quick getaway and were thrilled to find this cabin on Lake Alexander. It was beautiful, and actually even nicer than the pictures that are shown. It's roomy yet cozy, and the kids had room to stretch out. The owners were very responsive to our questions and helped with information on pontoon rentals and even grocery stores to go to ahead of arrival. The area is very quiet and our only regret is that we didn't get to spend more time there. I'd book this again in a heartbeat. Thanks Kris and Nellie!

Beautiful Cabin!
Our family had an awesome time at this cabin! Our group consisted of a mix of adults and teens and everyone had a blast. The cabin is decorated really cute and has absolutely everything you need for a comfortable stay. We especially enjoyed the porch area with the big table for family dinners. We also loved the fire pit area and awesome dock and boat house. There is also a Lily Pad available to use that was really fun. The owners, Kris and Nellie, were exceptional to deal with. They were responsive and really went the extra mile to be sure we had an excellent experience. Lake Alexander is beautiful and pretty quiet during the week and even weekends. The water is crystal clear with a sandy bottom so perfect for water sports. It’s also a great fishing lake ; we caught walleye, northern and some small mouth bass. If you’re looking for a nice, relaxing, comfortable “up north” cabin experience you can’t go wrong with this place. We hope to stay again in the future.

My family had a great week at this cabin! It had absolutely everything we needed for a comfortable stay, and the extras like the lily pad and kayaks were fun for my teen and young adult sons. We think it’s on the best part of the lake; the sunset view was amazing! We will definitely stay again when we are looking to rent.

Wonderful getaway
My family loved staying for the week at this cabin. Perfect set up for us with the kids having their own space on the lower level. We appreciated the black-out shades to keep it nice and dark for the kids along with the curtain over the bunks. The lake was great for swimming, but was super windy many days so we didn’t have much luck fishing. Enjoyed kayaking, biking the beautiful neighborhood, s’mores at the camp fire, and watching the sunsets. Thank you for a memorable week!

We had a wonderful stay at this cozy Lake Alexander cabin in June of 2020. Kris and Nellie were so welcoming and thought of everything their guests might need for a fun and comfortable get away. Fishing, swimming, tubing, kneeboarding, and kayak rides filled our sunny days, and we loved waking up to the gorgeous view. Thank you for sharing your beautiful cabin with us!
