Clean, Tidy and cosy
This property is just right for two people, we were very comfortable. We particularly appreciated the beautiful views, the very well equipped kitchen, comfy bed and pretty local walks. Close to Cygnet and Huonville, the location is great.

Very Enjoyable
We have just had a very enjoyable stay in Michelles lovely apartment. A perfect place to stay to sightsee, chill in the small settlements along the river or close enough to Hobart for some city stuff. Thank you Michelle & Peter for dealing with a couple of our "townie" problems so promptly.

Peaceful retreat at the end of a busy day.
We spent a couple of weeks here in December, over Christmas and New Year. This was a lovely spot to come back to each evening after a day negotiating the winding roads of Tasmania. The Huon Valley is lovely although the only views you have from this cottage are from the bathroom window or in the carport. However, the little courtyard offered a relaxing spot to sit amongst the flowers, morning or evening. There are many walks in the area (Pelverata Falls and Snug Falls) and plenty to see and do within an hour or two drive. The Tahune Air Walk was definitely worth the drive. The cottage is well equipped although COVID has resulted in a very pared back pantry, but who wants to do too much cooking on holidays anyway? The addition of laundry facilities is a huge bonus and save hours sitting in a laundromat. Michelle is lovely to deal with and responds quickly to any request and will help in any way she can.

Fabulous host and views over the valley
The apartment was delightful with thoughtful touches everywhere. Easy to find off highway. Wonderful electric heater in sitting room. Hot water in shower and we were able to wash and dry our clothes after Michelle helped us with front loader. Michelle was a warm and engaging hostess who also provided a large compendium of information.

Birch Lane-excellent
Lovely location, lovely home and lovely host. We are a family of four and we all enjoyed our stay. Michelle our host was very helpful and her beautiful little dog Zoe was a delight for my daughter to pat and cuddle. Thankyou.

What a place !

Perfect Accommodation While Working Away
We had to work in Huonville for a week and a bit and this was the perfect place to stay. 10min drive from Huonville, warm and comfortable, good wifi, best priced. Will stay again :)

Perfect retreat
Such a beautiful setting, peaceful and quiet amongst gardens and green fields. The accommodation is sparkling clean, the bed deliciously comfortable, and the entire apartment is very well equipped. We'll be back!

A comfortable place in a beautiful environment
Birch Lane is a comfortable place from which to visit southeastern Tasmania. The apartment is clean, freshly painted, equipped with quality appliances, comfortable bedding and pretty much everything you could need on a holiday stay. The ceramic cooktop is touch-controlled and a bit tricky to operate until you get the hang of it. Michelle and Peter are friendly, warm, welcoming and helpful people. Whilst they live close to the apartment (in fact the apartment is an integral part of their own home), with separate entrances it is more than adequately private. Sapphire the cat, and dog Zoe, will indeed be there to welcome you but won't wear out their welcome. If any problem at all just text Michelle and she or Peter will be there in a flash. There is a very nice 2-car carport on a concrete floor right next to the apartment from which you can enjoy a stunning view across the truly beautiful Huon Valley. Everything shown in the photo presentation is pretty much as it is except it gives a somewhat misleading impression of spaciousness. Whilst the apartment will sleep five it does not provide living space for five since there is not much room to move once the (comfortable) sofa-bed is deployed. The dining table only seats four. Five people - or even four - would not want to be shut in there if the weather turned bad. The toilet has access from the main bedroom and the bathroom/laundry. Whilst not really a problem, the shower has only a single fixed glass transparent half-screen that isn't wide enough to prevent water from escaping to the floor. Summarising, Birch Lane is a charming and beautiful place to stay. Unless you're something of a rally driver Hobart is the better part of an hour's drive, but a nice drive. Huonville, a busy town with everything, is about 10 minutes. If you want to visit Bruny Island, Birch Lane is well on the way. As a family of four we greatly enjoyed our stay at Birch Lane and look forward to doing it again.

Hi Donald, Thanks for taking the time to write such a comprehensive and positive review. It is helpful for future guests to see what we are doing well and what we are working on. As 2018 was our first year of operation we still have a couple of things we'd like to put in yet and fly screens are one of them. Interestingly, another family discussed that fly screens would be an advantage, but would also impede the views. So upon reflection, we have decided to put them only on the bedroom and bathroom windows as a trial. That particular family also swapped the configuration of the sofa-bed and the dining table for the duration of their stay and they reported it worked really well for their teenager. It really opens up what is essentially apartment living, and the private courtyard gives an extra outdoor private space as well. I'm really glad you enjoyed your stay. Birch Lane is in a great position, as you rightly point out, from which to explore the Valley, Bruny Island and Hobart.
