« Relaxing setting and very clean. »

« As soon as we walked in, it felt very cozy! We enjoyed playing the games, drinking a cup of coffee on the porch in the morning, and watching the sunset at the beach right down the street. The room was very clean and comfortable. It was close to local restaurants and the lighthouses. We really enjoyed our stay! »

« Very clean, super fun property! The record player with vintage records was a huge hit with us! The beach chairs and boogie boards came in very handy because the ocean is only a 2 minute drive away! We had a lot of fun playing into the 70s theme of the cottage, and you can feel the love every time you step in. We will recommend this place to everyone! Thank you for an amazing experience! »

« The house was exactly as it was shown, the owners very helpful and responsive. The location was perfect, close to so many fun things to see and do. The closeness to the beach and use of the beach chairs wagon and toys was so appreciated. »

« The property is in a great location close to the beach, stores, restaurants, etc., 2 minutes walk to the beach on the ocean side, 20 min drive to the soundside beach. 40 min drive to the nature preserve with the wild horses. Very clean. The house itself needs a little TLC, but this did not affect our stay at all. »

« Great location, features, and accommodations. The hosts were also very communicative and friendly. A great place to get away with friends and family, or even a solo trip. Oh…and the sunrises are beautiful out on the water, too!! »

« If I could give this place 6 stars I would. Charming and very clean. We liked the old obx atmosphere - with a nice update. Great location with ocean views. The pool was refreshing with ample chairs. There’s a crow’s nest with pergola. Screened in porch on cottage 11 was spacious enough to have dinner outside and still have room to hang towels. The property was well kept. There is private path to the beach is directly across the road. Amanda was friendly and easy to communicate with. We talked...

« The property listing as described and located in a quiet neighborhood. Excellent host and I would highly recommend this property. This is apparent with the attention to detail in the property description, restaurant suggestions, activities, even down to watching the 25MPH speed limit in Duck.The house is clean, well taken care of and great options with the pool and hot tub. The owner communicated well and quickly replied to any question.Thank you for a great stay!!! »

« Beautiful canal front cottage in quiet area equipped with everything you could need to enjoy time on the waterfront! Family friendly/lots of relaxing areas outdoors & extremely clean! We loved ending our 2 week OBX stay here. Everyone is so friendly! Owner provided excellent info of home, for area restaurants & activities. Definitely will be back! »

« The cottage itself was cute and if properly cleaned and maintained it would have been wonderful. The floor/tiles in one bathroom were loose, in the other bathroom the floor felt "squishy" and there were multiple broken/cracked shelves in the shower. Two of the burners on the stove did not work and when using the stove/oven there was smoke. The window when opened to alleviate the smoke would not stay open. This property allows pets and unfortunately their cleaning and repairs do not keep up with...

« Christine and Paul are wonderful hosts and their home is perfect for multiple family members, children and pets. The weather at the beginning of the week was not great, but we still enjoyed our family time. Our granddaughter LOVED the upper deck crow’s nest. Weather improved as the week went on and my husband caught enough fish for dinner. Life is good at the beach! Thank you for your hospitality. #blessed »

« We stayed in the cutest cottage. It was everything we expected and more! The area was so quiet and peaceful. We took several walks in the neighborhood and just fell in love with the area. »

« Blackbeard’s Retreat was clean, however could use an update. Awesome location, could benefit from an outdoor hose or shower, we needed to rinse off with the neighbor’s hose. It suited our needs for a couple days. »

"Our unit was very clean. The unit was well furnished, excellent amenities. Outdoor needs renos. There are stairs, you may need to carry your luggage upstairs. The area is mostly quiet, but... Suites have a communicating door that let the sounds (voices and tv) go through easily. Maintenance starts making noise before 8AM every morning and nobody seems to care; I've talk to people at the desk and the answer I got meant "it is what it is, it won't change, we don't care" "
