« The location was amazing and within walking distance to restaurants & shopping, though parking wasn't ideal. The homeowner was very prompt with responses and suggestions. The staircase up to the unit was tight and the floor was not level so we felt "tilted" - not much you can do about that without major construction. It would have been nice to have shades to go along with the shutters in the living room as the windows face the east and street lights were on all night. »

« It was our first trip to Boothbay and we couldn't have been more pleased!!! The Shipbuilder's retreat was well appointed in every way! Wide open, well cared for, and comfortable. « We loved our stay here! What I loved most was the common area with the large sectional and seating area. Plenty of space for the 5 of us to spread out! We used the kitchen for all meals and it was adequately stocked with everything we needed for cookware and utensils. The beds were comfortable with plenty of pillows. The location is great, a quiet neighborhood and easy drive to the harbor. The only thing I would suggest to make it a better stay is more towels and adequate bedding for the pullout...

« This was a return visit. A great stay as always. The hosts are lovely. The property is well located close to town and recreation. We have, as on past visits been so comfortable here. « Fantastic little hideaway for a solitary retreat. I love how close it is to the water, and the large couch on the porch is very generous for a studio for one person. It makes the porch feel like an extra room with a wonderful view. This is the second time I’ve rented here and both times have been delightful. »

« We really enjoyed our stay at In the Heart of the Village. It truly was in the middle of everything. Everything you need to be comfortable. Red cup coffee just steps away for coffee and breakfast. Ports Of Italy for dinner just a few more feet down the street. The bay across the street. Be aware that there are a short flight of very steep stairs to get into the house but everything is on one level after that. Def worth the stay. »
