« This place is nestled in a community and located right on the lake. Entertainment amenities are superb. Perfect for game nights, fishing, and watching sports in the large basement area. Dollar General & Food Lion are within a 10 minute drive. Kitchen needs some upgrades. Eating utensils are limited and two of the appliances (microwave/oven) were in need of repair. Water pressure is very low making dishwashing or taking a shower/bath difficult. Internet/cellular is spotty. As long as you can...

« Stayed two nights while attending weddings in the area. A very unique and enjoyable stay. The trail down to the treehouse results in a quiet and secluded space - surrounded by forest and the sounds of birds. As mentioned in the listing, the path from the parking to the treehouse is a somewhat steep wooded trail, and there is a ladder up to the loft bedroom - so this would not be great for those with mobility issues. But for us, these things enhanced our stay, and we would definitely return. ...

« 23-23 September 2025 - It was a wonderful 6 days spent chilling, bird watching, and grilling. This is my second visit to the Goochland Getaway, and it will not be my last. The solitude was remarkable, as was the house. Thank you for a wonderful visit. I hope to visit again soon. »

« This was a lovely retreat. We were in town for a family reunion in Richmond. The drive into town is about 25 minutes, but beautifully scenic and peaceful--we saw one of the most beautiful sunsets any of us had ever seen on our first night! The property is clean and well appointed. It has two bedrooms on the first floor which was perfect for the grandparents and great-grandparent in our group. « Great location and great outdoor space. Home had plenty of space for 4 adults and 4 kids with enough pillows and linens. Could be better stocked. Clean. We fished, swam, floated and boated and set up a movie by the fire pit. We had a great time! There is so much waterfront here. Bring your own ANYTHING you need for cooking (salt, pepper, olive oil), grill utensils (they supplied plenty of propane), baking sheets, large serving bowls, laundry and dishwasher tabs, oven mits, bug spray, “pool”...

« Such a lovely, peaceful, relaxing, private location with gorgeous views of the water and surrounding woods in a clean, uncluttered, spacious, airy-but-cozy cabin with oodles of natural light. The photos really do not do it justice, it's even more beautiful in person! The host was fantastic, friendly, helpful and just the right amount of communication and always responded to messages quickly! »
