« Despite an email exchange with the host prior to our stay, we walked in to find another family was clearly staying/living in the unit. We could not reach the ‘host’ by phone. « When I walked in the door, my response was "wow"...the home is absolutely beautifully decorated, cozy, and comfortably accommodated four adults and two children. The kitchen was stocked with all the utensils and appliances needed to prepare meals. The beds and pillows were comfortable and the neighborhood was very quiet. We would definitely rent the home again--Essence was professional and responsive. »

« Good: Host granted early check-in, we changed our plans, accordingly. Then host reneged on early check-in. Then Could not get in: "code was changed, vrbo didn't change it ". Lacked cutlery, lots of plastic, few forks. Only 4 mugs and bowls. Water pressure in prime bedroom bath painfully poor, spout falling off. Outside trash overflowing on arrival, no recycling. Host did send more trash bags. Single kitchen towel that was wet & stank. Some bath towels and bath mat bleach stained. "Water" below...

« This is a really great house in the middle of a really cool neighborhood. There's a park in walking distance, as well as an excellent pizza place. The river is a very short drive, as is anything else you might want to do. The house itself was very clean and comfortable, and we loved having the fenced in backyard for our dogs. The next time we visit Richmond, we would definitely stay here again! »

« We booked this home for a girls weekend for the Monument 10k. It was just a block away from the start area. The communication from the host was outstanding. Check-in was easy as was checking out. This is located at the corner of a busy street and can be a little loud from cars driving by. However, there are sound machines in each of the bedrooms and living room. This was perfect for a nice weekend. Easy to walk to restaurants, VCU, etc. Definitely recommend. »
