The Ranch Retreat at Fort Mill, SC

« First look, the house was good walking in. Biggest concern for us was safety. There’s one smoke alarm for the entire house, which is below minimum requirements by law. The gas stove only has 1 working knob, others are cracked or broken leading to more safety concerns; used the one working knob for the entire stove. The host claims the smoke alarm is also a carbon monoxide alarm, but it’s far from the kitchen and on the ceiling, other one was found but was unplugged. Fire extinguisher is out of...

« Quiet retreat with a great view. The house was very accommodating. Beds and couch/chairs comfortable, AC worked, plus they had 3 fans, the kitchen had everything you needed (but could use a sharper serrated knife). Spent a lot of time on the deck. But the steps down to the water were steep, older folks and older dogs may find them difficult. The host/owner was very helpful. Would stay there again. »
