Thanks to a tweet from the @ODNR this flower has been identified as blue cohosh (Caulophyllum thalictroides) also known as squaw root or papoose root. The common name comes from the striking blue fruit that maintains on this plant throughout summer. Davey Woods State Nature Preserve offers excellent spring wildflowers, pleasant summer hiking (no mosquitoes), nice fall colors and a beautiful winter landscape.
