« This cottage was the perfect place for a weekend getaway in the Charlottesville area! It has a nice secluded feel and yet is close to wineries, grocery stores, etc. We were not bothered at all by the train or cars on 250. The house itself is even more charming than in the pictures with carefully selected touches for a tea room vibe. It was comfortable and spotlessly clean. Mary was very responsive to questions and all instructions were very helpful. I would definitely love to return! »

« The cottage was absolutely adorable, and the grounds are a country sanctuary. The location is centrally situated with easy access to Charlottesville, Monticello, and Crozet, as well as major highways. The owners are especially friendly and helpful. »

« My friends and I stayed here recently while in town for our college reunion. The location can’t be beat- easy access to downtown Lexington, W&L, VMI, the Chessie Trail, etc. We will be back! »

« Very quiet and peaceful. Large, secluded property. Good base from which to explore area wineries, local beer, food, and hike im the Shenandoah National Park. »

« This is a quaint, quiet little cottage about 20 minutes from JMU. It is rural without being isolated-about 20 minutes to anything you need. Enjoyed having 2 fire-road type trails within walking distance, perfect for a morning run in the woods. Creek behind property was dry, likely due to season and little rainfall »

« Always beautiful up here. Cozy and clean cottage. We have the most relaxing time up here. Our first time was for our honeymoon four years ago. This is a fantastic spot to relax and enjoy the mountains. We will definitely be back again! »

« Nice quiet spot. On the same property as the owners, but still felt private. I loved seeing their dogs running in their yard every time we drove by I highly recommend the great goes that are nearby, as well as Bold Rock and Devils Backbone Brewery! »

« Loved staying at the Birds and Bees Cottage. It was so peaceful waking up each day, sitting on the porch and enjoying the views of the farm. This cottage was the perfect spot to unwind after visiting some local wineries. It was quiet and very easy to relax on the porch with a good book in the evening. Hope to return in the fall. »

« Everything was as described in listing. Beautiful property both inside and out. My family & I enjoyed the stay. Water was a little cool for us in September but our pup thoroughly enjoyed the river as well. The sound of the running water is very peaceful. The only suggestion I would make is adding a television in the master suite (personal preference) and add a few more towels & wash cloths. Great home. I highly recommend. »

« This property is absolutely gorgeous with the mountains and streams! The home is set up perfectly and is dog friendly with fenced yard! We definitely appreciated the treats the first night we arrived. The bed was so comfortable and the bathroom was so beautiful. We loved all the art work as well. The rocks set out for signing was a great idea! Thank you for the use of your home. »

« The Plainfield Cottage is a perfect getaway. We came in for a graduation and were quite busy. However, each time I stepped into the cottage, it felt peaceful, bright and clean. A great retreat to unwind and relax at. Cathy was very attentive on any needs we needed, as there were few because it was well stocked. »
