Bon hôtel
L'hôtel est bien placée au milieu de la ville et possède tout le nécessaire et même plus (piscine) il mérite néanmoins un petit rafraîchissement, notamment du côté de l'espace sport (piscine, salle de musculation..) Je recommande !

Du cachet et confortable
Chambre correcte et petits déjeuners à volonté, l'hotel est un ensemble de bâtiments datant de quelques siècles dont le cadre est sympa mais la déco des chambres mériterait d'être remise au gout du jour. Dommage qu'ils aient oublié des draps dans le canapé-lit des enfants. Petit plus : la piscine couverte

Det skulle finnas frukost. Fanns inte. Det skulle finnas pooler. De var stängda. Internet verkade också vara avstängt. Läget var mycket bra. Vi sov gott, tyst och lugnt.

Disappointingly dirty, refurb due
Despite booking in advance, room not serviced adequately and dirty. Bins not emptied, poor bed linen that looked like it had not been changed. Bath flaking and not fit for use. Chair broken and dangerous. Curtains hanging off. Bins not emptied. Manager DID however rectify chair immediately, and when room conditions revealed, I was given full refund. Generally refurb required and stricter housekeeping. Staff friendly, so I was sad that I had to complain.

There was only a half of toilet roll so we had to ask the front desk for another roll. The room and the building had lots of cob web. We stayed two days, they didn’t come to clean our room second day. TV only had two channels. Shower power was very poor.

Free parking but small car park with narrow access at back of property. Staff friendly and helpful. Breakfast reasonable. Some rooms could do with a bit of TLC but full of character & a lot of history attached to hotel.

Nice weejend break
Great location. A nice little town with lots of nice pubs and shops to take a wander around. You can get the bus to Oxford in about 40 mins. Hotel staff were friendly especially the waiter. Food was nice and reasonably priced. Hotel itself is a bit tired and in need of redecoration. Smimming pool is small.

A gem of a place to stay.
This Coaching Inn has a charm all of it's own. That mix of highly patterned carpets, a bar area with nooks and crannies, friendly staff and a delicious breakfast. The bedrooms are quaint with comfy beds but if you are a light sleeper don't stay on the front. The lorries start coming through the village about 5:30 am!!!

The room was quite old the bed had bed bugs i was put at the top floor there was no lift. On departure no one at reception. Had to shout to get someone's attention. There was no detail of the location of the car park. Totally disappointed

Breakfast was good and plentyful. Staff were helpful. Room dated and had a very strange lighting arrangement, you had to go to by the bed (in the dark) to switch a light on. Swimming pool was good, but changing rooms are not clean and look very unloved.

The staff were very helpful and the pub had a good atmosphere, but the room was very tired, they had been drilling in the wall to mount new wall lamps and left the plaster dust all over the bed, there was mold on the walls, ceilings and curtains and the place smelt strongly of damp

There was black bugs in the bathroom and bedroom, it was brought to the management attention and they didnt care about it at all. We received some not all of our money back, but that was after a lot of arguing, we would recommend any one stay there until it cleaned properly, i will be talking to thd local environmental health about this hotel .

The room was very ‘tired’.Mattress on the bed was old and you could feel the springs through it. The bed sheet was straight onto the mattress so no mattress protector . Disappointing the outside looks so nice.

I’m glad I ignored all the reviews I read about this hotel maybe they were old reviews. It’s an old hotel and very large our room was fine. The staff were lovely and pleasant from check in to the bar to servings breakfast. Would definitely stay here again.

The Crown &Cushion is shabby and overpriced. There are rips in the corridor carpets and the furnishings are cheap and nasty pine from the 1980s, mismatched, scuffed and water stained. Even the window frames have had obvious damage shoddily fixed. At breakfast there were tinned grapefruit and prunes that looked as if they’d been there for a while, packs of cereal that looked like the cheapest available from the cash and carry and horrible coffee from an urn. The whole place gives the impression of being run by people who don’t actually care about the service they deliver- but charge big city prices.

A slightly wobbly start when we were left standing in reception on arrival with no acknowledgement that someone was on their way to book us in. Meanwhile various members of staff bustled to and fro around us. Once that was resolved everything was fine. Friendly and helpful staff in both the bar and restaurant at breakfast. A fun, quirky hotel. Would be happy to stay again.

Having stayed at the hotel on a number of occasions sometime ago this was rather disappointing. Everything a bit tired and the bed could have done with a new mattress. Shower very difficult to use comfortably, breakfast good and very helpfully managed by staff.The use of the swimming pool was great.

Het was een verassing om in een soort Tudor kamer te slapen in een hemelbed. Het hotel in 600 jaar oud!! Het is dus mogelijk dat niet elk detail even " modern" is, maar we hebben prima geslapen en gegeten. In pandige pub bar heel leuk en eten en ontbijt prima. Misschien hier en daar een spikkeltje stof, maar het is een prachtig hotel met veel historie.

We had to wait at least 20 minutes for someone to appear to check us in the room . Room allocated to us was very dated, old wooden furniture . The curtains didn’t close properly and had lots of dust on them . The sofa in the room had a massive stain on it. The carpets near the bed were ripped . The only thing we can recommend is the breakfast / lots of choice . We would definitely not return
