EATING OUT For a classic pub meal, The Old House at Home on Rookwood Road is the nearest pub, offering great food with both indoor and outdoor seating.
At West Wittering Beach, you’ll find a café for refreshments, along with a takeaway Fish & Chips spot in the parking area. Just at the start of Ellanore Lane, The Landing Café serves coffee, light snacks, and ice cream—perfect for a quick bite.
East Wittering has a great selection of cafés and restaurants, including Drift-In Café, The Boulevard, and Drifters Restaurant, all offering a relaxed atmosphere and delicious meals.
In Bracklesham Bay, just beyond East Wittering, you’ll find the popular Billy’s on the Beach, a fantastic café-restaurant right by the sea. There’s also the Goat Coffee Shop and the charming Bracklesham Bay Tea Rooms for a cozy drink and a bite to eat.
GETTING AROUND Bus Station: Buses on routes 52 and 53 stop right outside the door, with four departures per hour. Chichester Train Station: 14 - minute drive London: Trains from London Victoria to Chichester run every 30 minutes and take approximately 1.5 hours.
NEARBY ATTRACTIONS West Wittering Beach is just a fifteen-minute walk from the house and is a stunning, sandy Blue Flag beach within a Site of Special Scientific Interest. Largely undeveloped, it retains its natural beauty, making it perfect for walkers, swimmers, paddle boarders, and kite surfers.
Pagham Harbour is a peaceful nature reserve and one of the few undeveloped stretches of the Sussex coast. This internationally important wetland is home to incredible wildlife, including black-tailed godwits and little egrets. Stay for sunset - it’s breathtaking!
For a scenic walk, follow Salterns Way towards Itchenor and Chichester Marina. Stop at The Ship Inn or The Quarterdeck Café for a bite to eat. From Itchenor, take the Itchenor Ferry across the water to Bosham, then enjoy a picturesque 30-minute harbour walk to the historic village, home to a Saxon church featured in the Bayeux Tapestry, charming cafés, and a waterside pub.
The historic Roman town of Chichester is 8 miles north of West Wittering. Its pedestrian-friendly centre boasts boutique shops, cafés, galleries, and Chichester Cathedral, famous for its separate bell tower, where Peregrine Falcons can often be spotted nesting.

Whether you’re an avid cold-water swimmer or simply looking to relax and recharge by the coast, this tranquil retreat is the perfect place to unwind.
Nearby, the Weald & Downland Living Museum showcases beautifully restored historic buildings, rebuilt brick by brick, offering a glimpse into Sussex’s rich past within stunning downland countryside.
Guests have access to entire home and patio. There is private parking for one car at the back of the property and one short-term bay in the front.
CHECK IN / CHECK OUT Check in time is after 4pm and check out time is before 10am. Please can we ask that you check out on time to prevent any disruption to the cleaner's schedule.
Please note a fee of £100 for lost keys and £50 for call outs if locked out.
CLEANING/ LINEN The property will be cleaned and prepared with linen and towels for your arrival. Mid-stay cleans are not included, but please get in touch if you would like to pay to book a clean or fresh linen and towels during your stay.
We will also provide a limited amount of consumables (toilet rolls, shampoo/conditioner etc.) to kick-start your stay and can recommend a local store where you can easily purchase more when you are settled in.
PETS Two small, well behaved dogs are welcome to join you on your holiday in the cottage. Please message in advance with the details of your pet (breed/age). - Dogs must be well behaved and house trained. - Please do not allow them upstairs or on the furniture. - Please clear up after them in the garden and around the property. - Muddy paws should be cleaned before they are allowed in the house. - Please do not leave them alone in the property.
YOUNG CHILDREN We have a travel cot and high chair available upon request. Please note that we do not provide cot bedding or linen so you will need to bring these along yourself.
