My mom wanted to celebrate her birthday in Chicago, and with 5 of us going, it made sense to book a VRBO instead of trying to get multiple hotel rooms. First of all, when booking, had to pay a 59 damage protection fee (or else you get charged some ungodly amount for a security deposit). Next, the check in process was extremely vague and made it difficult to access the property. When we entered the condo, the temperature was set to 79, not a huge deal, if you could adjust itâŠ.they had to locked out so we had to have our AC monitored the entire weekend and we had to consistently reach out to the owners to lower the temperature because they would not leave the setting alone. Very weird. The WiFi information was present anywhere, but with us being monitored for the AC, I wasnât in the most trusting mood to reach out for the WiFi stuff either. Multiple air vents were busted up, the dining room chairs were either in poor condition or about to fall apart. The living room had a projector and a tv, along with a surround sound system, pretty cool sounding huh? NOT! Nothing was simple about how to turn any of it on, or to get any of it to work cohesively. Not like we went to Chicago to watch TV, but with it being part of the unit, you would expect it to be at least functional. The mattresses on the beds were very uncomfortable. Only a couple bathroom light fixtures worked. Leftover food sitting on the counter as well. Didnât really feel welcome staying here with the limitations.
