Beautiful stay!
We stopped in for one cozy, rainy night on our road-trip and enjoyed our time so much! The guest house has everything you need, full kitchen, living room, beautiful bedroom, and the bathroom has a great tub for relaxing. We had a quiet night’s sleep in the big bed. It was so fun to wake up and see the horses and dogs in the stable across the lawn. If we come back through the area sometime, we would love to spend more time and visit the stable!

Nice cute place
We really liked the place. It was nice having a fenced in yard for the dog. The only thing I wish was different was that we could have walked our dog around the property or down the road but we could not because they have 2 dogs & we respected that. Luckily it was not a problem because we took our dog with us when we went somewhere and gave him a good walk there. So all in all it was perfect for what we needed it for. If we were going to be around the property more with our dog, we probably would not be staying there. The hosts were very respectful of our privacy also. I appreciate that a lot. Five star rating for what it was!

Hi Brenda! Thanks for your great review! We enjoyed having you stay with us. I just wanted to respond so future guests understand. Guests are very welcome to walk the property as long as they dont enter the horse pastures or barn but, we do ask guests to keep their dogs inside the fenced in yard for the safety of our dogs, cats and horses, and for the safety of our guest's dogs as well since the horse pasture fencing is not dog proof. Guests are more than welcome to walk down the road though we highly DO NOT recommend it since it is a curvy and hilly rural cut through road with no shoulders or sidewalks. For our guests that would like to go on a walk or hike with their pups, we generally send them down to a beautiful 1000 acre preserve less than 5 minutes from the property. We're glad you enjoyed your stay and would love to have you stay with us again even for short trips!

A Breath of Fresh Air
If you’re looking for a relaxing place to stay that benefits an extremely worthwhile cause consider staying at Bonnie’s Guesthouse. Lindsay and Jason have an amazing place, set in a beautiful country setting, surrounded by their sweet rescue horses. The VRBO was exactly as pictured and was perfect for us and our three city dogs who were exposed to country living. The guesthouse was very clean, perfect setup for a weekend getaway. We came from NC to Ohio for a family wedding and we were so pleased with this home. Lindsay and Jason were such great hosts but gave us all the privacy we needed. It was amazing to see the amount of love and work they put into caring for the rescued horses. We highly recommend Bonnie’s Guesthouse for anyone looking for a unique experience in a beautiful country setting. Thank you again, Lindsay, for your accommodation.

Perfect for Personal Get-Away
This was a wonderful place for a personal get away. I was able to relax and enjoy the quiet. It was comfortable and perfectly furnished. You can see and watch the horses from every room in the apartment. I was given the opportunity to go in the stable and meet the horses. Everything was perfect and j look forward to booking again.

Stayed two nights in mid May. Weather was nice but very windy. Guesthouse was comfortable and spacious enough for me and my little dog. I was thrilled this equine sanctuary was pet friendly with a fenced in area. The house has large windows and a deck that look out over the pasture and barn. It was a beautiful sight to see the horses grazing in the fields. The owners three friendly dogs came by often to say hello. Checkin/checkout was no contact and convenient. I did not see the owners except for my last day. The owners were pleasant and communicated well throughout the process. I highly recommend this guesthouse if you like horses and nature.

Comfortable quiet super dog friendly
Great place and will definitely keep in mind for the future. The dog run was a great help since we were traveling with 3 dogs but also the mud room was so helpful. It's even heated! We were able to keep the dogs in there too clean them or even sleep. Only recommend is maybe get a deck of cards or some games(we may have overlooked!) Since there isn't a tv in a communal room.

Overnight at a beautiful horse farm
It was beautiful to look out at the horses in the field with the trees behind showing fall colors. It was a quick stop on our way to Indianapolis. Carpets were a bit soiled which I guess can’t be avoided in rainy weather . It was nice to have a fenced in area for our dogs. We were not able to get the TV to work.

Unfortunately, this property wasn't as relaxing and peaceful as the description. There was an overall grime on walls, light switches and the chairs around the table. Furniture was uncomfortable and sheets were extremely tattered.

Dear Maribeth, we're very sorry to hear of your disappointment in the property. Please know that we take the cleanliness and comfort of our guests seriously. We had just hired a cleaner and they didn't meet our expectations either. We also had new sheets on order as well because they had rapidly deteriorated. The residue on the light switches is actually a disinfectant spray that is sprayed and left to dry at each cleaning. We will make sure our cleaning practice doesn't leave residue on the light switches. Please know that we have over 200 glowing reviews if you look up our listing on another popular hosting platform, Airbnb. Again, we're sorry your stay wasn't more comfortable, but we do maintain high standards that all of our other guests have been more than happy with. Best regards, Lindsay & Jason

Rural Gem
This apartment is basic but just what we needed. Close to town but far enough away to be peaceful and relaxing. We loved the patio and watching the horses, dogs, cats, birds, and a huge buck deer one evening! Would love to stay again!

Great Horse Sanctuary
We enjoyed the beautiful property, looking at the horses, dogs, and cats, and especially the barn tour. The mission of the sanctuary is honorable. Lindsay and Jason were very nice to us. The ranch was roomy, with a nice deck, but I was disappointed in its appearance with stained carpet and a lack of chairs.

My wife, granddaughter and I really enjoyed our stay. It's so peaceful and quiet and nice to look out the windows and see the horses of Peridot Equine Sanctuary. The apartment is simple but has everything you need and the hosts are gracious and we loved learning about the horses from them.

Relaxing and fun property with great amenities
We visited this VRBO for my daughter's birthday weekend. She is a horse-lover, so this seemed to be a perfect fit. Due to Covid restrictions, we haven't been away from our house much, and this was a perfect respite! The house was much more spacious than it appeared online. The kitchen had everything we needed. It was all exceptionally clean. On Saturday morning, we were able to tour the barn and meet the horses. If you are looking for fancy, keep looking. But if you want a relaxing, fun location that is quiet and supports a great mission, make your reservation today! We had our dog with us, too, and he loved the fenced in area. Everything was perfect and it was a quick drive into Chardon. We highly recommend staying here.

Even though we didn't bring our rambunctious puppy, this was a very dog friendly property, with a completely fenced side yard and a crate for nighttime. The private garage (with opener!) was a welcome perk, especially with the snow. As we expected, the woodburner warmed and brightened the evenings. We enjoyed the peace and quiet and being able to watch the sanctuary's horses.

I was looking for a place to just get away and relax, “Bonnie’s Guesthouse “ was more ! It was clean, quiet and beautiful! The view of the stables along with the sunrise was serene. The fenced in side yard made it easy for my little dog to go out without a leash and the care that Linsey took to introduce her dogs was impressive. I can’t wait to return next year.

Casual Lodging and a Great experience!
You'll be guests at a working horse sanctuary, about a 10 minute drive from town. The guest house is furnished simply but nicely, towels are fluffy, coffee and toiletries are waiting. It's attached to the main home, but we rarely heard anything from next door. Lindsay and Jason are very friendly and responsive to questions and needs. We enjoyed meeting the horses and hearing their stories, and watching all the activity in the barn, paddocks and pastures. We would definitely go there again.

Great place for fresh air and animal lovers.
Roomy space and great outdoor areas with friendly animals. The bedroom furniture was very beautiful and interesting and is reclaimed from Youngstown Sheet and Tube. You will enjoy all of it.

We appreciated our stay here and came home completely relaxed. We really enjoyed meeting the owners and chatting, as well as meeting the herd of horses and giving them some Love. Happy Grandson
We only spent 1 night. My 2 year old grandson loved the animals. Close to Lake Erie and a park just down the road. We were disappointed there was no TV reception. This was unclear in the listing. Would have preferred a blind over the door and kitchen window for privacy Overall enjoyed the stay and love the furniture and history of it. Loved the country setting and farm setting. The owners were nice and even loaned us a fan for the night. We would definitely stay again.

Hi Laurie. We are extremely pleased that you enjoyed your stay with us. We apologize that it was unclear to you about the cable television. We do not have cable on the property but do supply an HDMI cable with the television to connect to a streaming device of your choice. All of the main windows in the Guesthouse also have shades for privacy. We enjoyed having you stay with us and enjoyed watching your grandson play with the barn kittens! We would love to have you stay with us again in the future!
