I specifically requested a non-smoking upgraded room when I made my reservation a week in advance, and I also clearly marked my preference for a non-smoking room. Unfortunately, I was assigned a smoking room on a smoking floor. The smell of cigarette smoke was overwhelming, and it made my mouth and throat feel irritated throughout the night. When I contacted the front desk, I was simply told that there were no non-smoking rooms available. If the hotel could not honor my request, I believe I should have been informed before check-in rather than being assigned a smoking room. This was very disappointing and significantly affected the quality of my stay. I hope the hotel will improve its room assignment process so that confirmed guest preferences, especially for non-smoking rooms, are respected in the future.
