Tucked away on a spacious lot, the charming 2BR/1.5BA, Little House on the Creek retreat promises quiet privacy. Enjoy a prime location directly on the banks of Austin Creek. Vaulted ceilings and expansive windows showcase the peaceful waterside setting. Outdoor highlights include a gated private yard with a deck, firepit, and a gas grill.

LIVING AREAS

Make yourself at home in the inviting living room, appointed with one sofa, one pull out sofa sleeper, and an armchair. A wood-burning stove and a 32-inch smart TV set the scene for a cozy movie night.

A loft area is furnished with comfortable seating for three.

KITCHEN & DINING

Whip up hearty recipes in the fully stocked kitchen, equipped with gleaming countertops and stainless steel appliances.

When it is time to eat, share meals at the dining table for four or perch at the breakfast bar for two.

BEDROOMS & BATHS

This two-story home sleeps up to four adults and two children between two bedrooms.

The cozy master bedroom is outfitted with a plush queen bed. The adjacent bathroom is equipped with a walk-in shower.

The second bedroom has a queen bed, a kids' twin-over-twin bunk bed, and a private balcony. A half bath provides added convenience.

OUTDOOR AREAS

Spend leisurely afternoons on your deck that edges Austin Creek. There's seating for six.

Fire up the gas grill and host a cookout at the picnic table for six. When evening falls, roast marshmallows at the wood-burning firepit.

EXTRA AMENITIES & MORE DETAILS

Complimentary Wi-Fi, a washer/dryer, float toys, four folding chairs, and an outdoor shower are provided. Parking is available for four vehicles in the driveway; street parking is not permitted.

Kid-friendly extras include a high chair, booster seat, baby gate (removable), baby bath, kid's books, outdoor toys, and a Pack 'n Play.

This home does not have air-conditioning.

LOCATION

Little House on The Creek overlooks Austin Creek. In the rainy season, the creek can be full and rapid. In the summertime, the creek is perfect for wading, swimming, berry picking, and sunning on the rocks. One of the cleanest waterways in California, this year-round creek is home to protected steelhead, great blue heron, egrets, kingfishers, ducks, and playful river otters. (Creek access is seasonal, as the bank can have loose sand or rocks -- enter during the summer at your own risk, no winter access.)

The house is located 14 minutes from the ocean, 17 minutes from Guerneville, 10 minutes from Monte Rio. It is close to many wineries, bakeries, restaurants, kayaking, and biking.

Nature enthusiasts will love exploring the paths of Austin Creek State Recreation Area. Armstrong Redwoods State Natural Reserve offers amazing hikes amid a towering canopy of trees.

If you are bringing a dog on your trip, the pet fee is already included in your quote when selecting ‘Yes’ to pets. If you would like to add more dogs, please contact us. The pet fee is per stay and ranges between $150 and $200, depending on the bedroom count, and will apply for each additional dog.

Damage waiver: The total cost of your reservation for this Property includes a nightly damage waiver fee, plus tax if applicable (the “Damage Waiver”). The Damage Waiver covers you for up to $3,000 of accidental damage to the Property or its contents (such as furniture, fixtures, and appliances) as long as you report the incident to the host prior to checking out. The Damage Waiver fee eliminates the need for a traditional security deposit.

I was looking for a laid back getaway with our dogs. This property was exactly that! Loved having the secured fenced property where the dogs could roam while we relaxed by the fire-pit. I wish the path to the creek was not so challenging, but we still managed to get down there everyday. We were amazed at how clear the water was. We will definitely come back.

We just spent three blissful days at Little House on the Creek. The property is beautiful and not done justice by the photos. The yard features tall redwoods and apple trees, a fire pit, and lots of room to picnic or play. It is large and enclosed and great for a dog. The view of the creek from the deck is sublime, and we spent a lot of our time there having coffee or wine, reading ,etc. There is is zen feel to the whole thing that is delicious. The creek at this time of year is shallow and safe for anyone--human or animal. The gurgling sounds lull you to sleep at night. The house is very clean and well equipped. Everything you would want to cook (note: It would be nice if they supplied some coffee and condiments--we had to make an extra shopping trip for these.) or entertain yourself. The bed is comfortable and the walk in shower appreciated by us old folks. Lots of equipment for beach play. Note that the path to the creek is quite steep in spots and not suitable for some with mobility issues. All in all, a wonderful place to stay. On the other hand: Check out at 10am is outrageous, and puts a damper on a great vacation. We have rented VRBO homes all over the world for more than 20 years and have never heard of such a thing. There is no reason, especially since they don't let the next guest check in until 4pm. That said, we enjoy the place so much, we would love to stay again. Check-in/out policy needs to be fixed, however. Pronto.

The yard is not very well kept and the pictures look way better then what it actually looks like. We pulled out the hide a couch and it was very dirty. We had to re wash a lot of the dishes. Other then that we enjoyed our stay very much. Did not want to leave.

Setting peaceful, property private. Short trips out take you to Jenner and Duncan Mills with fun shop. The set up of first floor bedroom should be reviewed. Closet space and bed against the wall should be reconsidered.

This is a great little place with everything one could possibly need. Located on Austin Creek amidst the redwoods. Great location, close to Duncan Mills, the river, and the coast. Very cool yard with fire pit, Adirondack chairs, etc. Really a nice peaceful spot with all of the comforts of home. Would most definitely visit again.

We loved the location overlooking the river in the Redwoods. Close to several spots like Jenner and wine country. The yard itself could use a bit of work, also a DVD/Bluray player would have been a great addition. Checkout at 10am seemed a bit early to us as well.

It is a magnificent property nestled in the middle of Redwoods. The house was tastefully decorated. The only challenge was that the door code did not work when we came in. This was a problem because there was no easy way to reach out to Turnkey because there is no cell service in that area. Luckily, the cleaners were around and they let us in. We were able to make contact with Turnkey for a new code after we were inside the house because they had a landline. Turnkey promptly responded and it was all good from that point. Thanks! Ellora
