Stunning Views and Peaceful Spot
We had a wonderful time gazing at the stunning views from this cosy sunny home with a lovely view lying in bed in the main bedroom. A perfect location for beach walking, walking to the lighthouse and also exploring the area. Thank you for a perfect Castlepoint experience. Also exceptional service for a laptop cable left behind!

Amazing view
Nothing can beat the view from the lounge and master bedroom. The Bach is roomie and the location was perfect, we can’t wait to stay again!

Perfect location
Lovely spot and we enjoyed our stay, close to the beach, with views of the lighthouse and we loved having our dog with us! Stars were incredible at night and the sunrise the next day next to the lighthouse was stunning

Nice BUT
The Queen bed matress is rubbish. The owners need to take some of their cash and invest in a new one. The refrigerator freezes your food like a freezer even on the lowest setting. It ruined some of our food. The hot water tap in the bathroom has a foul smell which stays on your hands. The shower tap leaks. The hot water bottle leaked and needs replacing and the oil heater was missing it's plug. Otherwise the view was beautiful and it was neat and tidy on arrival.

Arrived with my husband and border collie The bach is a wonderful suprise Bright and homely In the waterfront looking at thesuperb headlands and coast scape and lighthouse The sky is full of seabirds Interesting sandy area and fishing biats Superb coastal walks I could not improve on it

Lovely stay. Very much a bach so no thrills. Didn’t realise on booking req our own linen / towels which was challenging as we were flying from the South Island. View and location is great. Ants a problem, hard for owners as I’m sure it’s location based but be aware!

Perfect spot
An awesome few days away at a perfect wee spot. So nice to have our little dog come along. Very relaxing space with beautiful views to wake up to. Our second time here, nice there were a few improvements from last visit, will be back for another stay for sure.

Brilliant Little Bach
Went for a little getaway, wished I could have stayed longer. The house was comfy and lived in, just perfect, not too pretentious - really everything you would want in a beach side bach. Just amazing in all ways.

Great Bach.
Great view. Good for family and friends bonding as with no wifi. Needs a bread toaster, though. Very accessible and near the beach...we enjoyed walks until late ..All utensils are provided. Air fryer is a plus but did not know about this, will use it when we come back...lol. 1 light bulb is needed. Needs a new queen bed. Also needs pillow cases, will bring some next time... overall, a great bach.

Amazing location
What a view! We loved our stay here, the giant picture windows and sliding doors, and the lovely deck and lawn, we just loved looking at the beach, waves, lighthouse, and watching the weather roll by :) We went for many walks on the beach and rocks. The only suggestion I have is for a new bed please! I took a mattress topper based on other reviews, but the bed does cave in the middle a bit so it was not comfortable.

very disappointed WE DID NOT STAY AT THIS BATCH
was not worth the money dirty oven curtains was told to be careful as it comes off the rail the bed was a big dip in the middle look like it would collapse was a BBQ bur bring your own gas bottle was advised tea/coffee/sugar you could use if there was any lots of things need attention we did not stay went to the holiday park down the road much better sheets/shampoo etc towels much more same view and CHEAPER Stayed one night drove home next day BOOK A BATCH did not wont to know so them who you book through get away with no come back we lost our money no wonder there was no pictures of the inside BE CAREFUL WHAT YOU BOOK

Very relaxing weekend away. Stunning views and lovely beach walks. We struck a cold weekend - the eco heaters worked well, but would be good if the column heater was operational. The most needed item though is a new master bedroom mattress. In the meantime, suggest people take something comfortable to put on top of mattress eg extra blankets

Just a beachfront dream
Direct on the beach, closest to the lighthouse this bach ist just wonderful. Great space to live and be. The kitchen is well equiped. Obly the beds have already seen their best days. My back, believe me..... every morning one our of pain. But.... I will never forget these views

Windy walks
Despite the wind and cold we had a great time. Loads of walking, north, south and west depending on where the wind was coming from. Bach had everything we needed and great views. Could do with a bigger heater when the southerly hits lucky we took our own. Really appreciated being told we had some extra time to enjoy the sun on our last day.

Wonderful location
Both pub and store are currently closed so take everything you need. Microwave still not working :-( and bed definitely as others described it :-( Its cold at this time of year and column heater is unusable as it doesn't have a plug :-( but you can't beat the location of this bach.

Breath Taking
My stay with this magical place was breathtaking and blissful. Waking up every morning to the view of the sea is so healing and relaxing. Looking at the sea 🌊 at all hours of the day and night was magic. The place was tidy if anything I would suggest a new mattress for the queen bed. My cat 🐈‍⬛ and I had a wonderful week. Mattress needs replacing. No internet despite WiFi plans being competitive. No Washer for Long term stayers. Microwave not working.powerpoints faulty. No fan in bathroom to control steam and moisture. Pillows stained and non hygenic. Wine glasses for dwarf's. Not enough cleaning products to clean up.

Great location right on the beach front. The bach is nice enough, but a little cold for winter -- only 2 small panel heaters in the lounge and that's it. Nothing in the bathroom or bedrooms. Will bring our own frying pan and spatula next time for frying eggs for breakfast, - the ones provided weren't great. Cell coverage is good (One NZ/2 Degrees). TV is located very close to the bedrooms, something to think about if you have a kid with you. Local shop has limited opening hours.

Great location. Typical bach feel.
This property was in a great location and perfect for a typical kiwi bach getaway if that's your style. Dairy down the road for anything you forget. Plenty to do in the way of walks and exploring, and just relaxing and admiring the view and goings on on the beach. It was perfect for a few nights. Despite expecting it to be cold at times, the panel heaters and the odd peek from the sun did a good job - better than i was expecting! Remember to bring linen, towels, tea towels/cloths, loo paper and rubbish bags at a minimum as this bach does not seem to be as well stocked with some of the leftover extra items you sometimes find at baches from the people before.

Loved the view, the music and the character of the house, but sadly felt everything was so “old hat” from the bed to the bathroon carpet and very old vacuum! It all needs a cheap lift n love, then it will be fabulous!

Best location
This is the best location for views. A general spring clean would be useful and possibly a new vacuum cleaner so you can give it a real good clean before you leave. Dogs are welcome and Tracy is great to deal with. It's awesome

Fantastic time away, we have already rebooked.
A clothes horse or another washing line would have been great, nothing dried on the one out the front with the bad weather. Just for wetsuits towels etc

We really enjoyed our stay at this property, conveniently close to the shop and beach, bed is comfortable. Was great that we were able to bring our dogs, they enjoyed the stay as well.
