Family-Friendly Cashiers Cabin in Trillium-Pet Friendly! Relax at Lake Glenville

Our cottage is the ideal spot for your family, romantic or work getaway on the Highlands-Cashiers Plateau. There are so many activities to enjoy: neighborhood hiking trails, boating on Lake Glenville, kayaking, unique shopping, fine dining - all in the cooler summer temperatures of our Western North Carolina heaven. Winsome Guest House is perfectly situated as overflow space for Lake Glenville, Trillium and Mountaintop Club families. Attending a local wedding or checking on your new house under construction? It’s perfect for just a couple as well. We also offer discounts on long term rentals so feel free to inquire. Dates that are blocked in gray on the calendar have been booked through another rental site.

The cabin was updated in 2023 and you will enjoy all of the comforts of home. My favorite spot is the private porch with comfortable seating to enjoy the cool mountain days. There is a fire pit for ambiance & roasting marshmallows even in July. We added gates for your dog to enjoy the space as well. Please see notes below for bringing a dog. There is plentiful seating in the living room (including a sofa bed) to enjoy the wood burning fireplace while watching a movie. On the main level, there is a bedroom with a private bath. There is a new adjustable queen-size bed in the bedroom. In the master bedroom closet, you will find a new pack and play and a baby/pet gate for the staircase. There is another full bathroom with a walk in shower in the downstairs hallway. Upstairs in the semi-private sleeping loft, there is a new king bed and a twin daybed with a trundle bed beneath. The family room couch also pulls out into a queen bed so make room for 2 more if needed. The kitchen is fully stocked with everything you need to make yourself at home. We have a charcoal grill for guests as well. There is fiber optic cable at the cabin and two ROKU televisions to stream your entertainment content. Uniquely suited for easy access, there is a ramp leading from the parking space to the porch, so there are no steps required to enter the main level of the home. The house sits on a quiet street on the very edge of Trillium Village off Fenley Forest Road. Trillium Links & Lake club is directly on Lake Glenville. The neighborhood has miles of paved roads for hiking, as well as well-maintained wooded trails leading to waterfalls, bubbling creeks and stocked fishing lakes and trout streams. Fenley Forest Road is very scenic and relatively flat to walk. The Highlands-Cashiers Plateau also has so much to offer. We describe it as perpetual summer camp! There is amazing hiking to beautiful waterfalls, unique shopping in Highlands & Cashiers, and outstanding restaurants to cap off your day. It’s also fun to use our Winsome Guest House to explore Western North Carolina. There are an array of arts & crafts festivals through-out the region almost every week during the summer and fall seasons. Less than an hour away, there is high level white water rafting, an aerial park with zip lining, or opportunities for just about any outdoor activity you desire. The Village Green at the crossroads offers 13 acres of a public park with a playground and picnic facilities it also provides a full roster of interesting programming for kids & adults as well as monthly free Friday night "Groovin on the Green" Concerts. There is a recreation center with an exercise facility and a dog park close to the Village Green as well. Prior to booking, please ensure you read the Rental Agreement under the Rules and Policies tab. Booking a reservation for the Winsome Guest House implies acceptance and agreement to all terms and conditions of the Rental Agreement. If you are bringing a dog, one is allowed under 50 lbs. The pet fee must be added to the reservation for insurance. You are responsible for crating your dog if they are prone to jumping at doors/windows in your absence to prevent wood damage. No room should be used for containment.

Great location and a perfect home for a weekend getaway

Lovely cottage was the perfect size for me and my two adult children. The Trillium community is quiet and well maintained and this property was very clean, with all the amenities we needed for our short stay. Two things to be aware of if staying here; there is really only room for one car to park directly in front of the property. There is parking around the corner a bit but not convenient if it’s rainy like it was during our stay. Also, we needed to stagger showers significantly in order to have enough hot water

We loved this charming house and its perfect location. The beds are very comfortable and showers are great! It is very convenient to Cashiers and the wedding location at one of the area golf clubs we attended. We’d love to stay again!

The home is so cozy. It had everything we needed for our stay before my son’s wedding. The grandchildren loved the loft, and walking around the neighborhood was so peaceful. The home is a short drive from Cashiers, so it was a very convenient stay for all our activities. The host was very helpful and easy to contact. We loved it so much, we booked it a second time for after the wedding. I would definitely stay there again if I am in the area.

This was a great location to enjoy Fall in Western NC. The house was convenient to Cashiers, Highlands, and Sapphire, and the neighborhood is on Lake Glenville. The Lake was peaceful and beautiful with the changing leaves.

Beautifully appointed and up to date and clean. Location very peaceful. But a word of warning
. The loft bedroom is not best for seniors. Lots of steps up and no bathroom upstairs. So risky for middle of night utilization. It was also a cooling challenge WHEN WE WERE THERE (end of August) since no vents upstairs. A little skimpy on both bathrooms linens (no face cloths) and toilet paper. Also a little stingy on linens and toilet paper.

The property is very clean and the host communicated perfectly with directions and recommendations. The setup was perfect with 2 adults and 2 young kids. The surroundings offer a very convenient area for paved walks within the community which was very quiet. We did not realize that there was another house immediately next door but this was not an issue, just something we would have liked to know ahead of time. A quick uphill walk on a paved road offers a beautiful sunset view.

Thank you again for your generous hospitality and understanding when we were faced with a difficult situation. We had unexpected vehicle trouble and we were also pressed for time to check out by 11am. You were gracious and allowed us extra time to deal with our unusual situation. Your property is as advertised and was perfect for us. This was our first trip to this area and we thoroughly enjoyed our brief stay while attending a family wedding. We hope we will be able to return again in the future. Highly recommended. Thanks again!

We really enjoyed our stay. The place is darling. Well appointed.. clean.. and peaceful. It was so nice to walk in the morning.. my dog Bella was in heaven sniffing the fresh mountain air. We did have a bit of a challenge unlocking the door in the dark. Once we scanned our hand the lock lit up.. arriving in daylight is probably a better plan. The beds were very comfortable, warm and a great selection of pillows. The owners have done a nice job.. I would totally recommend this special little place.
