Hotel Ty Rosa à Cardiff, bien situé entre vieille
L' hôtel est très bien situé entre la vieille ville, le Château et le Port, et une ligne de bus le dessert directement. Nous avons pu garer notre voiture juste en face, gratuitement. L' hôtel est très propre et bien équipé. L' accueil y est vraiment excellent, et les conseils pour le séjour sont très appréciables. Le " breakfast " du matin est de première classe !

The property itself is a bit outdated although the room in which I stayed seemed newly refurbished and I liked it a lot! Even though it was a budget accommodation, it did include ammenities such as coffee, shampoo, shower gel, etc. The wifi was excellent. The neighborhood was conveniently located for my purposes (25-30 minute walk to Cardiff Bay and to downtown Cardiff). The neighborhood was on the residential side so not very lively. I was on the first floor and was able to hear people going past my door but not to the extent that it disturbed my sleep or work but it's something that would bother my friends with noise sensitivity. I arrived before check-in and the staff were kind enough to let my drop my bag for the few hours before I had to check in. The two that I met were really chatty and friendly.

I know it was a budget stay but we did not have a good experience. I never leave bad reviews. The bed was awful. So squeaky and noisy every time you made the smallest movement so had 2 really bad nights sleep. The room was so small and cramped. And in need of upgrading.

I am sorry to hear you had a bad experience staying with us. You are the first person to mention the bed is squeaky and why did you not tell me I could have tightened it , being a metal frame I have done thus today and the bed is fine. The room is fairly small but we are a Victorian house and have no control over our sizes. I think it best you stay in a purpose built hotel. Sorry you did not come to me as I could have helped with your issues. Paul

Yövyimme kaksi yötä kohteessa. Ilmainen parkkitila tarkoitti katuparkkia, missä ei ollut tilaa. Varausta tehdessä luvattiin päivittäinen siivous - sitä ei ollut. Majoituspaikan ulko-ovella haisi kissanpissa ja sisällä ummehtunut haju. Ilma oli kostea, wc-pytyssä jonkun toisen ralliraidat ja lattiat wc-tiloissa olivat pehmenneet. Pytty tuntui kaatuvan kun siihen istui. Suihkun viemäri ei vetänyt ja seisoit omassa pesuvedessä, eikä suihku sammunut näppäimestä painamalla vaan jumittui päälle. Aluekin oli epäsiisti, roskia kaduilla ja hieman muutenkin epäillyttävää seutua. Kävelymatkat ravintoloihin ja keskustaan olivat pitkiä. Kaikin puolin aivan hirveä kokemus, emme suosittele.

I am sorry you had a bad stay with us, some customers damage items and we don’t always know immediately, the bathroom has already been fixed and shower unblocked. As Covid is still making people bad and a sign in the room we say if you want your room cleaned during your stay to just let us know and we would have happily refreshed your room for you. We had refuse strike in cardiff so apologies if the streets in cardiff were not good. Apologies again paul

Bad experience, do not recommend
The neighborhood was extremely unclean with trash all over the streets. The room was very small, amenities are old (bed squeaking, shower and bathroom needing renovations), not clean (my sheets were not clean, had hair and spots on them, the towels were worn, the bathroom liquid soap had a black liquid residue coming out of it). At the check in, the person who opened the door didn't even let us properly enter the house before rushing into explaining things very hastily and they were not even wearing a mask. Not a welcoming or warm experience at all. Given the price (about 70-90 pounds per night) this accommodation is a rip off. I do not recommend it at all.

At the time i was ISO of Covid and had someone looking after the place, I am so sorry you had a bad stay with us. I am sure with the issues they would have helped if you asked them. we have since attended to the items, bed tightened, soap holder was rubber seal gone, we now have standard anti bac soap. we are budget accommodation, price was when concert was to be here.

Hassle free stay
Good welcome, I arrived early but that wasn’t an issue. Also the road outside has ample free parking, a rarity in Cardiff, and there are frequent buses into the city.

It was a ok stay but
The room was clean and comfy the only dispointment was as you entered the hallway to where the stairs hadn't look like they've been hoovered or cleaned but then again we are just coming out the pandemic looks like there's been a flood in the landing stairwell in the ceiling there was a massive hole.. bathroom could do with a look great with the tiles lifting near the sink bathroom bin could have been done with emptying every day but again we have just coming out the pandemic so it would be nice to see what it looks like once Paul has got all his staff back.. i wouldn't call it a a boutique at the moment but like I've said it was a comfortable stay

thank you for the review, we are back up to running properly again and all rooms, hallway and bathroom is cleaned daily (if not more) and maintained properly since coming out of the pandemic.

A nice little B&B 10 mins drive from Cardiff Bay or a 35 min walk. Ty Rosa is in a great location, with ample on-road parking outside. A nice friendly greeting when i arrived. I stayed in Caerphilly Castle room which was clean and spacious, the bathroom was just a few steps downstairs. They provided water, a kettle, a dressing gown and some toiletries. I had the best 2 nights sleep in the luxurious bed and it's a pity i couldnt spend more time in it as i was in Cardiff for work. I will definitely stay here again on my next visit.

great warm service with a homely feel.
I stayed for two nights and the service and premises were both amazing. I would highly recommend. Only minor downside was the on street parking but I managed to easily park both days.

Collected keys at check-in time. Room was not made. The owner assured that it would be done by the time I get in later. At 11pm I returned to find the room not made, other peoples bed linen on the bed, dirty carpet, empty tango cans. Wall paper was peeling. I had to call the owner, who came to change the bed. However only 1 shared bathroom for at least 3 rooms- possibly more. So could nt get to the toilet/bathroom in the morning, as these were occupied. Had to wait and when I got in the bathroom the floor was all wet, mildew on the shower. The carpet on the stairs was detached in a few places, so this is a hazard and can fall. The pictures of the B+B were taken some time ago, so the furnishings are a more worn.

i know know your husband called in to drop off luggage just at start of checki in, the room wasnt ready, but we were told not to worry as coming back very late. Our housekeeper for some reason missed getting the room completed, We were very apologetic about it when you arrived and felt very embarrassed as had never done that before, we can only apologies again. We are a budget accommodation and you booked a room that had shared bathroom, it was only between a few rooms, so must have been unfortunate someone was in there. we do have en-suite rooms too. A piece of stair carpet had become loose, ( we are full every day so have a lot of traffic) It was noticed and fixed that morning. Apoloiges again that your stay with us wasn't good., We are a family place and all reviews are taken personally and saddens me when guests are not happy.

Convenient bus stop outside but also within half an hour walk from city centre. Friendly and helpful staff. We were in the budget accomodation in the annexe over the road and it was in need of a makeover. There was a cental heating boiler and a fridge in the room. Both noisy. The fridge could be switched off (towel required on floor as the freezer compartment then defrosted), but the boiler could not be switched off.

thank you for the review. you had the studio style room which has a kitchen within the room, the fridge was set on high for some reason so it will start up regularly, i have set the fridge to low as it is not used that much and will stop it cutting in too much. thank you

Location was good and the room was suitable for my needs could have been better with timing of breakfast as i had to leave by 7.15AM and breakfast was at 7.30 but apart from that everything was good i would definitely recommend it in the future

sorry our breakfast was not early enough for you to take it, we are a small family B&B with 7.30 am start breakfast in the week. If you stay in a small B&B again, might be worth checking on the start times as we know of a good few around the UK that start after 8.00am. thanks again.,

Das Personal war sehr nett! Das Frühstück war sehr lecker. Das Zimmer war auch ok. Im Bad hat sich die Tapete von der Wand gelöst. Ansonsten war es auch sauber.

Nicely decorated. Paul was hard working and welcoming, and cooked amazing breakfasts. And Stewart had an infectious personality. Of an issue I did have cause to flag up, Paul was refreshingly receptive and rectified immediately. Excellent value. Would certainly recommend!

Good location but unclean
The B&B is in a good location near the city centre, breakfast is great, but the rooms are very dirty. There's mould on the shared bathroom shower curtain and ceiling, old toothpaste marks on the mirror and a visible layer of dust on everything with piles of it under the bed. The fire alarm panel shows faults so the alarms might not be working. The extractor fan in the bathroom doesn't work and there's no window to let the moisture out.

Very good stay for the money, not far from the city centre. Fantastic breakfast as well. The hosts were friendly and professional. Overall very clean, though there are parts of the room that would benefit from a deeper clean. Would definitely stay here again.

Fantastic stay!
Lovely host. Very clean and comfortable room (& a kettle for my much needed cup of tea first thing in the morning!). Free on-street parking right outside the house (very impressed with this). Very comfortable bed which I slept very well in. Wonderful breakfast with a huge choice of options and lovely fresh fruit. The house literally has a bus stop right outside to take you to the city centre and just a short walk to the Cardiff City Stadium. I would most definitely book to stay here again.
