Very grubby and run down, not impressed with any aspect whatsoever both lifts out of order which was a problem as I suffer with a bad back so not even a complementary drink offered even when we suggested it! Manager Ashley totally clueless we would never stay there again even if it was free!!

The hotel was lovely to stay at and the staff were very kind, helpful and delightful, the location was also very convenient for the shops and local restaurants, I would stay here again.

The room was huge and good value for money but the carpet in the room was badly stained and the bed was a standard double which should really be upgraded to a king or superking to be appealing in todays market. The room was clean but l felt could do with a repaint as it was a bit tired, the location and staff were all great though x

Very convenient for Cardiff city centre, good breakfast, friendly staff, comfy room Placement of shower curtain was a bit awkward, making the shower space a bit too small (bath and shower were perfectly fine, the rail is just too far in)

Enjoyed being in Cardiff & often stay at the Angel Hotel, however be mindfull that the adjourning walls are thin & we could hear the TV in the next room clearly & the guest that occupied it on the phone at 04.50am!

My first stay and a great one. Upon check-in I was given a map of city and told not to miss certain sites/ exhibitions. My room was clean, had great running water (water pressure was great). Breakfast was great too.

From walking through the doors on arrival to exiting the property on departure, our stay was wasa very positive experience, the receptionist was our first contact, this is a match made in heaven, that lad was so well placed in that position it left us feeling warm and welcome

not only front of house but even the cleaners and porters were exceptionally friendly and polite, the most comfortable bed we have ever slept in and trust me we have been around the world, hidden gem right on our door stop and breakfast buffet was the icing on the cake, who doesn't like to load up on a full English, going to try a mid week next time when town is less bust, hope this helps. Front desk staff was outstandingly friendly and yet professional. Room was adequately furnished, although a less saggy couch, some artwork and air conditioning on top floor would be a great improvement. Breakfast was wonderful!

Stunning original features in reception and great onsite parking. The room was clean and sheets, pillow cases, towels fresh and laundered. The twin beds were small and the pillows, quilts and mattress covers had seen better days. Staff were lovely, friendly and very helpful. I would stay again.

Absolutely lovely hotel. The room was very spacious, which was a surprise after I’d spent a week in a shoebox sized room in London paying the same price. The staff was great. I only wish I’d spent more than one night.

A lovely hotel where you can feel the ancient atmosphere but where the rooms are perfect and fully refurbished. I found the staff extremely professional and polite. The position is perfect, walking distance to the main attractions. The railway station is not too far neither and I walked with my suitcase without issues. It will certainly be my first choice for my next trip to Cardiff.

It is fair to say that this hotel has seen better days, especially regarding decor and cleanliness overall. There was an odd odour in the corridors. The sealant on our bathroom as well as the shower knob mechanism had some mould on it. Carpets were stained in our room. The staff were all very pleasant and attentive and breakfast was very good.
