This is a truly special place. The photos are accurate: the views are stunning, the apartment itself is lovely and very comfortable, and the amenities (pool, hot tub, etc) are exactly as described. The bedrooms are enclosed but the living room and kitchen are open, so you feel like you're really immersed in the surroundings. Sunsets each evening are spectacular with the west-facing exposure, and the sunrises are serene and calming with indirect light coming over the shoulder of the volcano behind. The hosts (and their dogs) are warm and welcoming. Even though they live next door, we had a real sense of privacy. The location is a bit distant from shopping, restaurants, etc. (about 25 min drive to the nearest grocery store), but it only needed a little bit of fore-planning to work things out, and for us the fact that it was away from the crowds was a big plus. Terrific beaches and snorkeling are very close, and it's well situated for trips to and around the southern point of the big island.
