Fantastic lodge with fantastic staff and service!

The Sunset Beach Lodge & Spa is definitely a must when you come to Cape Town, it is a block away from the beach (that offers incredible views of the city and Table Mountain), easily accessible and a short ride to town. The lodge is extremely well maintained and decorated, it has a homely feel, and security is definitely not an issue there. I also want to give kuddos to the staff who is beyond nice and helpful, they are absolutely exceptional and make the stay extremely pleasant. I highly recommend this lodge, even for a mini local getaway, I know I'll definitely come back.

Wonderful Sunset Beach

I had a great three weeks in Sunset Beach. There's a relaxed and friendly atmosphere which combined with the facilities available, all made for a relaxing and enjoyable holiday.

Furchtbares Hotel - keine 4 Sterne!!

Dieses Hotel ist definitiv keine 4 Sterne Hotel. Die Lage in zweiter Reihe lässt keinen Blick auf das Meer zu. Es riecht extrem unangenehm im Hotel. Der Pool ist erstens dreckig und zweitens so klein, dass er eher eine grössere Badewanne ist (schwimmen im Pool ist also nicht möglich). Wir hätten ein Zimmer gehabt, wo das Badezimmer nicht en suite ist, wir hätten also über den Gang gehen müssen, wo sich auch andere Gäste aufhalten, obwohl wir ja eigentlich die Honeymoon Suite gebucht hatten. Das Badezimmer war alt, dreckig und einfach nur eklig. Aber bei Ankunft hat uns die Besitzerin mitgeteilt, dass dieses Zimmer nicht mehr zur Verfügung steht. Sie hatte trotz unserer Bestätigung von Expedia das gebuchte Zimmer anderen Gästen gegeben, da diese eine längeren Aufenthalt hatten. Fazit: die Besitzerin war weder freundlich noch kooperativ und daraufhin sind wir, nachdem wir dieses widerliche Zimmer besichtigt haben, sofort abgereist. Einmal und die wieder!! Ich kann die positiven Bewertungen NICHT nachvollziehen, nachdem ich dieses Hotel gesehen habe. Einfach nur schlecht!!

Sunset Beach Lodge & Spa

Used this hotel after we landed at Cape Town Intern'l airport. We where driving up the western seaboard of South Africa and this was a good "pit stop" after a long flight. The hotel is situated in a residential area so it is not for somebody looking for night life with clubs and restaurants in the area. Good clean hotel with an adequate breakfast. The listed croissant, muffins etc but I could not find any of these breads at breakfast.

STAY AWAY!

This has been my most horrible encounter with any hotel establishment ever. Having booked and prepaid for my stay at the hotel; I arrive, get advised through the gate (without access to premises) that my accommodation had been transferred to a different establishment (lower grading, lower room class, substandard condition, further away). I could not stay there; and despite numerous attempts to both the establishment and hotels.com no refund has been offered, or any attempt been made to rectify this. Beware - you think you might book for one hotel, and could then get bumped to another lower class facility. Not acceptable.

Sunset beach

On our first day of our arrival we got lost we went to the same address but in another surburb.I hope they will specify on their website that their address is in Milnerton not just Cape Town. We arrived late at the lodge due us getting lost. Our stay was generally good.

Close to beach, downtown Cape town or the airport.

We were upgraded to the honeymoon suite and it was WONDERFUL. It was the best room we had in our 3 weeks on the Garden Route from Port Elizabeth to Cape Town. It was very close to the airport or downtown Cape Town in a pleasant and very walkable residential area. The gorgeous beach was 1/2 block away where we watched some great kite surfers. Many more TV choices than we had most of the time and the Wi-Fi worked great.

Sehr günstig gelegen nahe dem Strand

Auffallend war schon in Deutschland daß zu viel Geld für die Übernachtung über die Credit Card abgezogen wurde und zwar erst mal der gesamte Preis und dann nochmal 50 % zusätzlich vom Preis obwohl in Ihrem Angebot stand die Hälfte des Zimmerpreises wird abgezogen der Rest in Landeswährung vor Ort. Obwohl die Beanspruchung des Zimmers erst zum 30.9. stattfand wurde der Betrag schon Anfang August abgebucht. Ankunft in Ordnung, das Zimmer lt. Buchung korrekt wie gewünscht aber dann fiel die Klimaanlage aus und somit auch die Heizung. Abends wurde es kühl und wir mussten frieren weil man sich ausser Stande fühlte für Abhilfe zu sorgen. Gebucht war bis 14.10. und auch bezahlt aber aus familiären Gründen mussten wir schon am 11.10. zurück fliegen. Drei Tage vor Abflug machte man uns den Vorschlag in ein anderes Gästehaus zu gehen dort wäre das Zimmer kleiner und somit wärmer. Da wir einen Ausflug geplant hatten sagte ich zur Vermieterin wir wollten es uns überlegen und abends mit ihr das andere Gästehaus aufsuchen und uns entscheiden was wir machen. Als wir abends müde und kaputt zurückkamen, ich den Schlüssel in die Zimmertüre steckte rief man laut stop das Zimmer ist anderweitig vermietet und die Gäste haben das Zimmer schon bezogen. Unsere Sachen hat man am Tage aus dem Schrank, Badezimmer und Nachtschrank einfach herausgeholt und in unsere verschiedenen Koffer gepackt durcheinander und in das andere Gästehaus gebracht. Dieses Verhalten ist unmöglich
