Oceanfront 5-bedroom Heritage House in historic bohemian neighbourhood

Treat yourself to a rare stay in a spacious historic home. Spectacularly high ceilings, wooden floors, and shutters indoor and out. Flow seamlessly from the main bedrooms into a long pillared veranda overlooking the glorious panoramic view of the Indian ocean. Built circa 1870; Carisbrooke is a heritage gem, with gorgeous collected furnishing. Five spacious bedrooms sleep 11 guests with 2 beautiful bathrooms and a fully equipped kitchen.
Totally relax with breakfast on the veranda in the morning sun, listening to the ocean, reading your favourite book. With views of False Bay and the Hottentots Holland mountains and sometimes even morning dolphins, you can gaze into the ocean endlessly. A short walk takes you to the vibrant picturesque village of Kalk Bay with its flower sellers, vintage shops, artisanal coffee and the best restaurants. Along the way swim in the tidal pools, especially the renowned Dalebrook pool where interesting people congregate for their daily dip.

The space
The most gorgeous sprawling balcony set above the seascape perfect for ocean gazing. Inside, find incredibly high ceilings and although it is spectacularly grand, it feels warm and inviting. Expect eclectic and comfortable furnishing, soft roomy couches, interesting books, fireplaces, and lots of natural light. With 5 bedrooms and 2 newly renovated bathrooms, everyone has their own retreat space. Each room has shutters that can be closed if looking for some time out or an extra long sleep. There is great WiFI and space to work all around the house. The kitchen is delightful ~ so easy to cook up big meals and the dining room overlooking the sea, with its 10-seater table invites copious laughter and discussion. Carisbrooke can comfortably sleep 10 or 11 people. There's always a spare bed that can be made up if need be. You can literally walk out the front garden and onto a path that follows the ocean. Parking is off the street. It feels so safe and easy to walk to the nearby Kalk bay village where endless hours of exploration await.

Depending on your requirement the entire space can be used or we can limit use of bedrooms to accommodate smaller groups.

Other things to note
The gorgeous Carisbrooke is a short walk along the ocean to one of the most quirky and eclectic areas of Cape Town. A vibrant road filled with vintage shops, restaurants and coffee shops. You have to stop at the chocolate shop, eat croissants at the bakery, browse the handmade crafts, the display of flowers and soak in the atmosphere of artists and foodies. Swim in a number of tidal pools hugging the ocean. Near the famous Dalebrook pool you may find the mobile sauna for a hot and cold therapy experience. This is an area you can explore for days. A slightly further walk and you get to the harbour where you can buy fresh fish to take home and cook. Back home,
Carisbrooke has the most wonderful caretaker on site called Sivu, he will help you with anything you need. He'll even recommend restaurants and find you the best coffee ever. And if you are there at the right season, he'll point out the dolphins swimming by in the mornings.
Carisbrooke has biome-friendly cleaning products, a top water filter and soft filtered shower water. It is really a place you can breathe out and feel like staying forever.
