Nice country inn, but..
Very nice country hotel in the countryside near Duxford IWM, reasonable rooms, beautiful old building, free parking. All fine except the shower temperature knob was stuck on "burning hot" and when I reported it to reception upon checking out I was told.. "it's the customers' fault, they keep forcing the knobs out". Had the response been "Sorry sir, we apologize" my overall opinion would have been different.

We were not stating it was customer fault, we did in fact apologise to you at the time also. What we were getting tot the point of was that sometimes people like to try and fix it themselves rather than report which is what caused the problem of the controls keep falling off as too many people keep pulling them off rather than letting the team fix the issue. this was what was being explained to you

Fabulous hotel
An amazing stay! 13th century building but rooms very modern. Staff excellent, extremely friendly and helpful. Came down late for breakfast on our 2nd day, no problem, a full English breakfast was provided for us. Fantastic, couldn't recommend highly enough. I'll be back. 10 out 10

Our opinions
We had a lovely stay at the hotel, although it was very noisy being able to hear conversations through the walls. Breakfast was buffet style (I stuck with cereals as didn't know how long the food had been out and also looked very greasy)

Thank you for your lovely feedback, sorry that you felt that the rooms were noisy and you could hear other conversations, we are limited with what we can do around insulation due to the age of the building. Food is cooked fresh as breakfast is going along, so rest assured that it wouldn't of been out for long. We look forward to seeing you again in the future

Located in a quiet setting, with ample parking at the door, the Red Lion is a hidden gem where patrons are put first by staff. The building is over 500 years old yet retains it charm and comfort. Couldn't recommend it more.

Limited menu in evening. Breakfast was a fiasco! Never saw anyone at all. Hot Buffet food left out with no eggs of any sort. No glasses for the fruit juice. No plates for the toast. Came down at 8:10am returned to room at 8:50, nobody to be seen. Not good enough. Expensive drinks too. Room was good as was the bar staff on arrival and evening.

Dear BarbieThank you for your feedback. There is a full menu available from small plates to a la carte dishes along with the pub classics such as burgers. Some items may have been unavailable due to popularity. In regards to the staffing, staff are on hand during breakfast and they may have been assisting other guests during this time. Extremely friendly and helpful staff. Gave good recommendations and were willing to try and resolve issues. Very accommodating of having a dog with us which made travelling much easier. The shower was great! Heating wasn’t adjustable in room which meant it was very hot. Food was good, although breakfast was a slightly odd mix. Overall enjoyed and would stay again.
