Magnifique château et parc Chambre située dans les dépendances complètement dépassée nécessite une rénovation complète : salle de bain salle et vétuste (cordon pour allumer la lumière et lavabo avec 1 robinet eau chaude et 1 robinet eau froide…!) Pas de climatisation Pas de frigidaire

Unfortunate booking
The garden at that place is fabulous. That’s it. The room I was in had not been renovated since many many years, old carpet, smelly room, very poor thermal shower insulation, bathroom was a joke with detached linoleum. Thankfully that was still clean (bath & toilet & bed - the cleaning staff is doing a good job). Body soap was awful, thankfully the hand soap was ok. It should be better advertised as dorm room / hostel and not as a hotel.

Chambre très petite, lit confortable, il n'y a pas d'ascenseur donc les chambres au 2e étage sont moins accessibles avec de grosses valises, acceuil correct, déjeuner continental de base, site extérieur très bien et très vaste, il y a un jardin pour les amateurs d'orticulture et un petit sentier pédestre. 15 min. de voiture du centre ville de Cambridge. Dispendieux seulement pour dormir.

Excellent lieu de séjour avec un petit déjeuner anglais de la plus haute qualité. Un super restaurant est situé à proximité dans le village de Madingley. Je recommande fortement

Loin du centre de Cambridge.
Jolie batiment qui a l'habitude de recevoir des universitaires. Chambre correcte sans plus, petit-déjeuner de qualité. Très à l'extérieur de Cambridge : à 15 minutes en voiture sans embouteillage.

Very clean and comfortable accommodation. Friendly staff and a good buffet breakfast. Rooms are basic en suite but clean. A little bit utilitarian in appearance and no frills. The bed was comfortable and tea & coffee facilities are provided. Good parking onsite. I would definitely stay again when in the area.

The grounds and gardens were excellent. The room: Toilet had clearly been leaking waste water for some time. Bath had black mould extensively. Wardrobe and safe within reeked of pot. Hall had a very strong mildew smell. Staff seemed that this was not new.

Madingley Hall is such a nice place with serene environment. The structures are well maintained. The staff are superb.

Stay here for the WOW factor when you drive up the long driveway. Beautiful gardens, large bedrooms, large breakfast and a great university vibe. And they serve meals in the bar each evening which was a real bonus after a long drive.

Lovely Building But We Won't Be Back
Beautiful building and lands. But, I'm afraid that's where it ended for us. When we booked there was 'restaurant' listed but when we asked about it we were sent to the bar area of the hotel which only did bar snacks - not what we were expecting at all. Luckily we found the Three Horseshoes across the road and although on the pricey side the meals were lovely. Breakfast was included in our two night package and the first day it was fine. The second morning was very poor. The coffee machine broke down and after someone tried to mend it and failed a pot of coffee was brought out which was soon emptied and taken away never to be seen again. The hot food was cold - not even mildly cold - and the times we had to ask for plates/bread/butter etc . . . We also feel we should have been told before we booked that the hotel didn't have their heating on before November as we had to sit in our rooms in our coats for warmth.

No heating despite the cold spell. We were told it was university policy not to put on central heating until November. What a silly way to determine when heating should be on. If we had known earlier we would have cancelled our stay. On this occasion I was disappointed the room was not cleaned throughly; it was superficially cleaned but there was long standing dust and dirt over the radiators and the telephone. Very poor experience which is unlike what we had experienced on previous stays

Lovely building in beautiful grounds. As it says this is not a hotel, it’s more like university student accommodation; simple but acceptable. The issue for me was cleanliness. It was quite dusty and needed vacuuming. A little more care and attention and this would be good.

Pretty Meh, but not the worst. Friendly staff.
It was ok, single room offered the basics well. TV was small and could only be viewed if you were in the bathroom. Lovely building. Little or no water pressure with a very very sensitive hot/cold dial. Pretty noisy, every time someone in a room near by goes in or out the doors bang loudly. Great staff and food and drink was good in the evening. Breakfast was basic and in the galley layout, which was novel.

Spectacular setting
The grounds are spectacular. The building is very beautiful. The rooms are very nice however the bathroom was adequate. The included buffet breakfast was a nice touch however the hot food was not even warm.
