The lady at the front desk when checking was absolutely fantastic, I didn’t get her name but she was friendly and just overall great! Very clean and well kept hotel. Would definitely stay again

Clean, but washroom outdated, odd that a reception area would have water, and hot water for tea but never complimentary coffee over a 3 day stay, where other Sandman’s do, also should not have to walk through the first floor rooms, then try to figure out your way through two different doorways to get to the restaurant

There was broken glass behind the night stand, microwave in room did not work. I asked for another one and was told they were full house and had no spare one. The deadbolt would not lock in the strike plate. Snot on the bed skirt. Pillows were the size use for a small child. The power button on tv remote did not work.

This location is near sports competitive venues. Kids and teens who are in competition stay on weekends and are very noisy. This is the parents responsibility but when I complained to the desk the answer I got was " I already talked to them". How about apologizing to the customer and indicating you will try to rectify it. At check out I was asked how was the visit. The other person I reserved a for said it was fine I said I was disappointed. The response " well one out of two is not bad" Unbelievable No follow up on what why disappointed. Clearly customer service training is needed! In addition I booked two rooms and upon check out was handed two pages assuming a receipt for each room but both pages were for only the one room.

Thank you Nicholas for taking the time to provide the hotel with proper feedback in efforts to be exposed to the area's in which we have gone grey. Your presence in our hotel is most important to us and if the experience did not match our intentions, then I sincerely apologize for that. Our policy when hosting any sort of group, teams, event in the hotel is to always be transparent with them from the start. The due diligence is created immediately with the intention and hope that the guest in those rooms with follow suit, but as you can see this is not always the case. However it is not fair to you, that enduring in this problem, was apart of your stay. I would like too, at the very least offer you a complimentary upgrade provided that you give us a chance in the future to make amends. I will also make sure to re-iterate, so that all staff know when dealing with this type of complaint. I can assure you, these are not common practices in which are naturally communicated. It is apparent to me that regardless of your experience, everything could have been brought together a bit better with a higher sense of empathy. Please understand, that the Sandman NW is committed making things right. If you do chose to consider us again, please feel free to mention this is a future booking, that way management can have a closer look at all the possible enhancements. Take care for now :-)

It looks like your booking pathway would have been Expedia so I would recommend conversing any financial disputes with one of their fantastic agents who can assist you. Unfortunately not all locations are equipped with the option of a breakfast but the majority of locations include one or two of Northlands many owned restaurant chains. We hope that you will consider us in the future for another chance to make things right! Take care for now and until then :-)

Our room had poor climate control. It was way too hot. We turned the ac on in the room and could not cool it down. The temperature outside was below 0 degrees Celsius and we had to use the ac unit to try to cool the room…..unsuccessfully. The ac unit in the room was so loud we could not sleep. Too hot, too noisy. Would not stay there again.

Normally, maintenance will combat these situations ahead of time time with the preventative maintenance they run on any arrivals (/rooms) coming in to the hotel. Power was out, washroom was awful, power was out for an hour and fire alarm went on. I will never be back and highly recommend you do not waste your money here. I travel to Calgary every month for work and will never be back.

The biggest issue I had was the smell of the room. I understand that we had a dog so we were understandably placed in a room that is for people travelling with pets, and the smell was like a cleaner that was used or an air freshener but it was so over powering. Luckily I had my own so that masked the smell. I will say the little goodie bag they give your dog is so cute! And we got a second one at check out because my dog absolutely loved the salmon treats that were in there. Property was well kept otherwise. Wish we had time to enjoy the hot tub and pool but we were there for just a quick stay.

Poorly maintained. Bathroom door falling off. TV non functional. Very expensive and then we find out no continental breakfast (which is my fault for not checking when booking) We will not book with sandman again. There is too many hotel chains in the world to get burnt twice by the same outfit.

We only needed a room for one night, so it was good for what we needed, but I found the room very small, it needs some upgrades, our closet door was broken and the tap in the bathroom splashed water everywhere. It just needs some newer taps and covers for switches. It’s little things that can make a big difference.
