Staff were friendly & polite, unfortunately the room was a bit disappointing, compact comes to mind: Stains on bedding Mattress uncomfortable Took 2/3 attempts to turn off hot tap Once toilet was flushed it sounded like it was dripping And I am absolutely sure the washing machine(s) was at the back of our room and were going most of the night

Will be back
Really lovely place to stay. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Rooms were clean and well maintained. Food was excellent, all freshly made and good value. The Tea Room and Garden with large pond was lovely and if you have little ones there is a good play area. The beach is a few hundred yards away and as this isnt in the heart of Brean it is a quiet location.

Very friendly and welcoming staff. Location is perfect with a lovely garden. We stayed in the court yard accommodation, which was adequate (just a little tired). Breakfast was very nice with great service. We would definitely stay here again.

Outside lights on all night, had lots of light into the room. States breakfast but none available when we stayed and staff rude when asked about lack of breakfast that was clearly stated.

The accommodation is clean tidy and appropriate for a five day stay the staff were accommodating and polite and there was no cheap food dished up for breakfast it was all good quality products cannot fault it and will consider booking again

Disappointing
No information whatsoever provided about breakfast time and heating. Eventually worked out how the heating worked. Did not bother with breakfast as I didn’t know what time it was served, and when I left there were no signs of life!

Excellent one night stopover . There was a mixup with breakfast ( Hotels.com s fault not the Old Rectory) which the owners dealt with really well. Clean comfortable and inexpensive. whats not to like. Our dog had a lovely run on the beach next mornong

Lovely and friendly staff and the new owners are very pleasant and accommadating. The breakfast is fabulous and sets you up for the day. Looking forward to the next stay!

We had our own little bungalow type room. Lovely shower, double & single bed, wardrobe, heating available. Shops nearby, well stocked. Very quiet..lovely site, nice team, great brekky.

Enjoyed our stay although only there two nights. A bit disappointed to find the bar was closed Sunday evening as we were looking forward to having a relaxing evening at the hotel and not having to go out into the town. But otherwise all very good.

Lovely, friendly bed and breakfast.
Overall we have had a pleasant stay. The room we chose was a bit small for 3 adults, but was OK for 3 nights. The beds were comfortable and the room was very clean. Brean is a way from Burnham-on-Sea but easy enough to get to other places by car.

Absolutely fabulous place . Room a tad small but other than that can't fault it .Superbly located to explore the coast . Staff very polite and friendly . Great breakfast and snacks served couldn't have been any friendlier . Great for the dog as beach in Brean dog friendly as was the hotel . Only thing was the bar not being open at night at the Hotel otherwise it would have been Perfection . Would definitely stay again

The property was comfortable and we loved the self contained room although they are very small it was comfortable. It was very not a fan would have been nice and as there is no window or extractor fan for the bathroom an air freshener would have been nice too.

Very disappointed with our stay. The bar closed at 8pm, despite the website saying they had a licence till 11pm, so it was assumed they would be open till 11 ! Our room opened out onto the gravel car park, not lovely paving or grass as displayed on their website. There was no shelf in the bathroom for any toiletries - they had to be balance on the toilet cistern. The room was not re-stocked with tea or coffee during our three night say. There was a very dirty table outside to sit at, which I had to clean before being used. Overall, we were very disappointed with our stay, and would not recommend this accommodation to our friends.

The Old Rectory Hotel
The hotel is on the edge of Brean going towards Brean Down. It is very quite and calm. The hotel is a perfect place for walking and the beach is not too far away. The hotel was very clean and tidy. Food at the hotel was fantastic with the full English breakfast a great start to the day really filled me up until tea time.
