Perfect get away cabin
The cabin is literally right at a lake. In the morning we saw an otter and a pair of loons. I went up there to have a birthday weekend escape and to see the total eclipse. We had a wonderful time.

The property was as described. Alarm was not disarmed when we entered the property so we did have the police arrive shortly after we did. Everything was clean, plenty of firewood, kitchen had everything you could need. Wifi worked great for streaming all week. Livingroom furniture could be updated for more comfort and curtains could be added. The train took a little getting used to but not a big deal. Getting on to the ice from the house with a UTV was not ideal but possible. We enjoyed our stay.

Lake view cabin
We enjoyed our stay very much. Our favorite part was the fireplace and the wildlife around the lake. We watched otters playing on the frozen lake in the morning for 3 days and it was wonderful! The only downside was the lack of hiking trails and restaurants nearby. It was no fault of the host, but the area is pretty isolated. Two of the restaurants the host listed were permanently closed. Regardless we enjoyed cooking at the house. It’s a great place to gather as a family and we loved that it was pet friendly. Our dog loved watching the lake and playing in the snow! The host was friendly, quick to respond and handled check in very smoothly. We would gladly come again!

The perfect lake house
The lake house is the best we have ever stayed at. It is the perfect location. The house is well-equipped, super clean and gorgeous. The lake is clear, clean (no weeds) and quiet. It is great for swimming, kayaking, or just sitting on the deck or dock and enjoying the view. Would love to return again.

Great House and Location
Found this place as a compromise between Baxter State Park and Acadia National Park. House was beautiful and well appointed. Neighbors are a little close but not in a way that was distracting. If we had another day, we would have brought kayaks. Would be good to include a couple with the house. Beds were comfortable and having two bathrooms was great. WiFi worked well enough for streaming but not much more than that. Kitchen was well stocked with cookware. We had fires outside and inside. The owner provided plenty of firewood and kindling. One small issue was the tap water. I think they likely need to overhaul the system and replace pipes because there was some kind of metal sediment which turns the water tan/light brown. If you run the water for a bit, it clears up but not completely. We drank bottled water. Also, the dirt road to the house was quite rutted so choose the SUV over the convertible if renting. Overall, would definitely stay again!

Winter Lake House
The cabin was cozy and clean, right on the water, it was lovely. Our family of four fit perfectly in the small cozy cabin. There were not many people around so the cabin was private and quiet at night. Beautiful spot!

Fall Schoodic Escape
The cabin is beautiful and only steps away from the water. Super quiet and relaxing. The only complaint that I have is the property had mice. I left a couple of apples on the counter. The following morning the mice had nibbled on the apples and there were mice dropping on the counter. Kept all food including the dog food in the frig.

Nice little house but unfortunately with some serious issues
The initial impression of the property was very good. Outside of some difficulty finding the place (the house number isn't posted), everything looked clean, and there was a gorgeous view of the lake. The included fire wood was great for the fire pit and the fire place. The area also seemed very quiet, and people in nearby town were nice and helpful. Unfortunately as we went to sleep the first night the issues started becoming apparent. The house and beds made a lot of creaking noise all throughout the night waking us up. It almost sounded like someone was constantly walking around, even though nobody was. Then 2-3 times a night there was a train that would pass by nearby, blowing it's horn repeatedly. It passed by around 10 PM, midnight, and 3 AM, waking everyone up again. Finally when we got up in the morning we discovered that some of the food we brought with us had bite marks on it, as well as rodent fleeces on the kitchen counters. The house was very comfortable, and the communication was easy, but unfortunately the issues prevented us from experiencing the calm retreat that it should have been.

Due to the northern Maine location field mice do come around every once in a while, so thank you for bringing this to my attention and I apologize about the inconvenience. I have made sure to notify pest control about the problem. And I’m sorry to hear you had any trouble sleeping, our cabin is usually found to be very cozy and quiet. Creating a relaxing, enjoyable getaway for our renters is of utmost importance to us. Schoodic lake escape
Great house on a quiet cove on beautiful clean schoodic lake. My family enjoyed paddleboarding, swimming, kayaking and fishing. The house sits in a great lot with room for my young kids to run outside in the grass and play in the shallow water of the lake. My only complaint were mice. We ended up driving into town to buy mice traps. We successfully got the culprits and the rest of our stay was peaceful and uneventful. Would recommend this house for anyone who is looking for peace and quite.

Incredible Location and Cabin
This cabin is has a perfect lay out -- it is at once small and spacious if that is possible. Perfect for a week by the water. The lake itself is incredible -- clear and cool even in the hottest part of summer. We had great weather so were outside on the deck most of the time. But the large covered porch area was great for the one thunderstorm. Wifi was spotty - we did have to go to the local library for a few connection issues.

Winter weather concerns
Our overall stay was great. However, I suggest emailing ahead of time to make sure that the heat has been turned up if you are staying in the winter. Myself and our group were a good 24 hours getting the place warm enough to be comfortable, due to the thermostat being set on 55 degrees when we arrived. Once warm, we had no further issues.

Great lakefront getaway
Spent several nights with 2 young children and had a wonderful time. Great location to just sit and relax by the lake. The water was clean and the yard was the perfect size for a family of 4. Host was wonderful to wok with - she purchased a lobster pot for our stay and the property manager even got someone to come out and jump start our vehicle when our battery died. Would definitely recommend for anyone looking to get away and we will definitely come back again.

I actually grew up on Schoodic some years ago and relished the chance to visit again. Schoodic Lake remains as magical as ever! The water, night sky, loons are incomparable. We’ll be back! 😉

Myself and my husband rented for one week and enjoyed ourselves for the most part. My husband was able to do a lot of fishing which he enjoys. I was able to relax with our dogs and take several walks/bike rides around the camp roads. However, the camp had several house flies in it when we arrived and they continued to multiply as the days went on. Staying for a full week was also difficult without access to the washer and dryer. Also assuming that people have their on logins for Hulu, Netflix etc.. isn't very helpful. My husband and I use direct TV at home and didn't have any of those things to use. Thankfully a family member lent us their info to use. With the advertisment for this property they talked about it's great kayaking, boating and fishing experience. This is all true. But with the price it costs to rent the cabin for one week, it would be nice if there were maybe a couple kayaks provided. The huge windows that overlook the water are also covered in spiders and cobwebs inside and out. Despite the overall condition of the cabin, it was a great location and provided us with the quiet atmosphere we were hoping for. We will be back again in February for the ice fishing derby.

Cozy lakefront cabin with all the comforts of home
Our stay here was lovely! We had 3 adults and 1 teenager (13). We were actually supposed to have another couple and their dog stay with us, but they were unable to come. The upstairs sleeping/bathroom area is a little tight, so I’m glad they didn’t come as it gave us a bit more space. There is only seating for 4 at the inside dinner table. There are several chairs for outdoor seating (including a picnic table), but when it rains the back deck has no covering. When it rained we sat in the front facing the road under the overhang. We were blessed with perfect weather, save for one day of rain and another of passing showers. There is no access to a washer/dryer which would’ve been helpful for doing at least a small load of towels. The house is stocked with everything you will need for cooking and serving. The coffeemaker could use an upgrade (it was small & pretty dirty), but outside of these first world problems, overall everything was great! I recommend you bring or buy firewood as there was only enough for us to have one solid outdoor fire. The property sits right on the lake so access for water activities is absolutely perfect. The water was chilly (temps only got in the high 70s on our trip), but the lake was crystal clear and calm. The house has no watercraft, so plan to bring your own f that’s your jam. We kayaked, swam, and fished off the dock. There are two houses quite close to the cabin on either side, but one is vacant and the other only had people there for two days of our visit. Everyone in the area is very friendly. Stores and restaurants (if needed) are about a 20 minute drive away. All in all I highly recommend staying here. It is very clean and cozy, and boasts large picture windows with a glorious view of the lake.

So very lovely!
Everything was relaxed and easeful despite my confusion about the length of our stay. The caretakers were attentive and helpful as was the property manager. The space is minimalist with a beautiful view. Perfect for what we needed. The fireplace and fire pit added to the ambiance. Access to the lake was simple. An ideal spot for a Maine woods lake getaway.

Wonderful Family Vacation
If you are looking for peace and beautiful views book this cabin now. Our family of 4 and one dog all had the best time. Everything was clean, there was every kitchen utensil that you would need for cooking, plenty of wood for both the indoor and outdoor fire pit, etc. The beds and pillows were comfy. The open concept made it easy to spend time together. We also loved the gear room. It was nice to have a place to put all of our stuff in one spot. We fished off of the dock. Didn’t catch anything but the kids had fun trying. The lake was pristine. This was a great find…we will definitely be back!
