« Plenty of parking. All facilities were available (pool, spa golf etc) at an extra cost but I didn't use. Room looked out on to a brick wall and outdoor plumbing, but I assume this is because I didn't book directly with the hotel. Grounds were immaculate but not visible from our room. Didn't have breakfast so cannot comment but it smelled good! »

« On the first night, we had a fire alarm at 3 a.m. It took the night auditor 30 minutes to turn it off. No complimentary gesture or apology was offered. The hotel is outdated for a 4-star property. The bathroom silicone is moldy, the carpet is stained and needs a deep clean, and the room was very dusty. « Had no choice but to book a room on the first floor that was meant for people who need "assistance". Room had zero charm at all and I felt like I was in a hospital especially in the bathroom. On top of that it was full of golfers who made a lot of noise. Anyways, bad stay overall. I know I should not be suprised as I booked this type of room but still... »

« We stayed in the Bootham suite, the room was light and airy and had a lovely small balcony to enjoy the sunshine. The four poster bed was very comfy and there was a small seating area to relax in. Breakfast was very good, everything is a la carte and the staff were very attentive. The hotel is in a great location, very easy walking distance into York but also very quiet and peaceful. The Pantry is a really nice touch but it was a shame that there wasn't a fridge in the room to keep drinks cool....
