Bien situé, joli cadre ( avec girafes!!)...
Très bien situé pour visiter le pilanesberg (20 min). Des girafes et antilopes sont à deux pas du lodge ( on les a vu par hasard en allant vers le kruger muséum et on peut les voir de la terrasse du lodge si elles sont la). Par contre chocolat chaud est payant malgré le petit déjeuner "inclus" (et bien sûr personne n en informe lorsque vous commandez) sinon le petit déjeuner était top ( oeufs, bacon, fruits frais, viennoiserie. ..). Le cadre du lodge est super sympa.je recommande !

Hôtel Kedar à proximité Pilanesberg
Bon hôtel dans l'ensemble. Cadre agréable en retrait de la route et chambres/bungalows typiquement Africains. Restauration moyenne mais correcte quand même si l'on ne veut pas sortir le soir (peu ou pas de restaurants à proximité directe). Ne pas hésiter à contacter le manager de ce restaurant pour demander autre chose que ce qui est proposé (type viande grillée par exemple). Nous y sommes restés 3 nuits. Très tranquille les 2 premières mais un groupe de jeunes gens très bruyant est arrivé la 3ème et nous avons du demander aux responsables de l'hôtel d'intervenir pour limiter les nuisances sonores. Ils ne l'avaient pas fait de leur propre chef. A noter que cet hôtel propose les services de conférence et qu'en fonction des groupes accueillis il peut y avoir des problèmes de bruits... La proximité du Pilanesberg est un atout de choix car les tarifs proposés par l'hôtel en semaine sont largement moins chers que ceux des lodges du parc. Il faut compter environ 15 à 20 minutes pour se rendre à la porte la plus proche du parc. Des animaux se baladent en liberté dans l'enceinte de l'hôtel ce qui rajoute une touche de charme (vous les verrez passer le soir après la nuit tombée principalement). Nous y avons fait un séjour très agréable malgré le problème de bruit explicité précédemment mais nous pensons qu'il vaut peut-être mieux privilégier cet hôtel en semaine, des groupes arrivant le week-end. Le personnel est agréable (sauf une des réceptionnistes) et prévenant. Un hôtel à conseiller d'après nous.

A place to Relax and enjoy!!!
very nice surprise, a lot of history to the place especially if you are into the anglo boer war, Paul Kruger etc. Met the owner, Robert Forsyth, very nice and friendly person, full of knowledge about South African History. The room we were in was very spacious, it also included a sizeable bathtub. There are 60 something rooms in the lodge but they appear to be spread out as I only saw maybe a dozen which made the place very private. I would highly recommend Kedar lodge if you are don't want the hustle and bustle of Sun City (20 min away) and want to just chill and maybe take one of their history tours of the farm/lodge

Horrible hotel. To avoid at all price!
This hotel was horrible. We got such a dirty room full of mosquitoes that we could not accept to stay and we had to drive back to Johannesburg with our 1-month old baby. That was a really unpleasant experience. The staff and management would not admit anything was wrong with the room and, of course they refused to refund the 4 nights we had paid for upfront. That's just unacceptable and shameful. I strongly recommend to avoid this hotel at all price! There are so many other nice options next to the Pilanesberg (starting with Sun City hotels), there is no reason to subsidize awful places such as Kedar Heritage Lodge.

Excellent breakfast bar and dinner variety and service, comfortable beds, well replenished rooms. beautiful grounds, good staff, friendly and helpful. Only upset was that it took 45 minutes to check in after 6 hours of travelling as Supervisor was no where to be found, with a confirmed call 3 days before of exact check-in time.

How to spoil a short break.
Took involuntary cold showers on the night of arrival. Plumber could not get the geyser going. Drain clogged so water up to ankle high towards the end. Had to wait for a room to be refreshed in the morning before decent ablutions.

Everything was fine and the staff was very accommodating. The only negative was the supper in the Armory. They didn't have one of the dishes that was advertised on the menu available. The alternate dish was not that was advertised. It was cold and oily - Pork Belly.

Zufallsbuchung, die ich nicht bereut habe. Wirklich abgefahrenes Hotel mit Militaria in allen Ecken, für Geschichtsfreaks, die sich für die Anglo-Burischen Auseinandersetzungen interessieren. Daneben Denkmale für so unterschiedliche Leute wie Ghandi, Cecil Rhodes und Sol Plaatje. Paul Krugers Farmhaus auf dem Gelände. Meine Befürchtung, auf ideologisch beinharte Buren oder Kriegsbegeisterte Mitmenschen zu treffen traf nicht zu. Sehr gemischtes, lockeres Publikum. Nur 30 Minuten zum Pilanesberg-Nationalpark: Preiswert und gut wohnen und trotzdem nahe am Park. Die Zimmer liegen verteilt auf angenehm schattigem Gelände. Gute EZ-Konditionen

Striking Ambiance
I stayed at this original hotel/lodge after visiting Pilanesberg National Park. The historical decor and statues were quite a surprise. The room was comfortable and morning breakfast was great. The staff were friendly. The only downside is that the front desk double invoiced in addition to the prepaid Hotels.com fee - be careful.

Sehr sehr nette und hilfsbereite Mitarbeiter. Von der Straße schlecht zu erkennen, wo die Lodge ist. Abends keine Beleuchtung. Die Zimmer sind groß, aber ziemlich dunkel. WLAN in der Bar wäre schön gewesen. Das Essen war sehr gut. NP war in der Nähe. Haben eine Tour um 15 Uhr gebucht und viele Tiere gesehen.

Beautiful location. Was my 2nd time there. First was better. Bed needs to be upgraded a bit saggy. The noise levels from fellow guests and staff in the early morning was dreadful so a sleep in wasn't possible. Sadly will not be a third visit from me.

The staff is very friendly. The rooms are very outdated. Woke up to ants crawling over us every night. No wifi and TV reception was poor. The breakfast buffet was very good. Definitely won't be staying there again.

Worth considering
Great location for Pilanesberg National Park. This is an old establishment that has basic rooms, basic food and inconsistent service. However, there is some historic value and the price is very reasonable for the area, so it is worth considering if budget is a factor.

Achtung, komplett bargeldloser Betrieb!
Eine schöne Anlage mit eigenem Park für Game Drive (Zebras, Giraffen, Antilopen) und einem schönen Rundgang zum Vögelbeobachten. Das Personal an der Reception war tw inkompetent und nicht sehr hilfsbereich, die anderen Angestellten sehr freundlich. Wir wudern vorgängig nicht informiert, das das ganze Areal ohne Bargeld funktioniert und hatten deshalb viel zu viel Geld abgehoben, was ärgerlich war. Der Pilanesberg NP ist ca 30min entfernt, wenn ihr über das Hotel eine Safari dort bucht unbedingt Bestätigung mitnehmen, da ihr sonst noch den Eintritt für Sun City bezahlen müsst (Startpunkt der Safari). Das Frühstück ist sehr gut, Pool und Spabereich renovationsbedürftig und tw geschlossen. Kein W-Lan im Zimmer.

The lodge has a very friendly staff with a nice buffet breakfast. There is a walking trail to see some of the animals and a number of statues located around the property. The lodge does have large travel groups from overseas and should not be considered a small lodge.

Sehr schönes Hotel zw. Rustenburg & Sun City
In einem schönen Park/ Reservat gelegen findet man die Kedar Country Lodge. Die Deluxe Super Zimmer sind super geräumig. Wir erhielten zu zweit ein Vierbettzimmer. Das Frühstück ist sehr reichhaltig. Von kalten bis warmen Speisen ist alles vorhanden. Man sollte nur die Dunstabzugshaube im Show Coocking Bereich auch einschalten. Das Abend- und auch das Mittagsbuffet boten eine große Auswahl zum größten Teil regionaler Speisen. Der Service an der Rezeption ließ keine Wünsche offen.

Lovely lodge, perfect for romantic stay
Had a lovely time at Kedar. We had booked a super deluxe room but when we arrived they didn't have any left, plus the payment details had not gone through so they thought we still had to pay for the booking. After this was all sorted out (by a very nice lady called Ballysing (sp) and her duty manager) we had a lovely room and a fabulous stay at Kedar. Proximity to Pilanesberg was great, and the food at the lodge was nice. We would stay here again.

We stayed at the hotel during August 2016 for 4 nights. My first impression was a bit dissapointing, as the hotel has an overwelmingly historical theme, which was not evident from the website. Everywhereyou look there areguns, swords, helmets and medals from the boer war. The room was not exactly as nice as it seemed from the website either. The biggest negative was actually the noises from the main road which runs very close to the rooms. We were woken every morning at 5 am by the sounds of big trucks driving by. The staff also played cheesy american pop music way too loud in the restaurant. Having said that, once we got used to the place, we noticed a couple of redeeming features. The staff was generally very helpfull and friendly. The food and service in the restaurant and pub was very good. The service in the rooms was good. Overall I would say it was worth the money we spent. The venue is situated very close to Sun City and the Pilanesberg nature reserve..
