Property and Staff as well as the Facilities where top notch. Unfortunately, the third-party company for Expedia botched our booking causing a terrible first day and night at the resort. I would recommend booking with the hotel directly. The hotel resort staff was amazing.

Staff are WONDERFUL – Sarah and so many others!! Nice but small beach, good sailing and paddle boarding. Coral reefs are mostly dead covered in algae with very few fish (so sad), dive masters were good but equipment was surprisingly poor. Close to Dunns River Falls and Blue Hole which were excellent. Overall nice experience but don’t go for the diving or a long walkable beach.

Staff Underpaid
Most staff was inattentive and sometimes rude. It was clear after talking to a few they were underpaid. Manager at front desk had no ability to correct an issue with number of guests and charged me additional $400. I would not stay there again but I hope the resort considers paying staff more which in turn would improve customer service.

Good facility to spend time with family & grandchildren. However, too noisy (very loud music, slamming doors, noise of passing equipment at 3 am) and one instance of painting the outside of our room door and not posting warning sign! Got white paint over one hand (washed off) and on a pair of new jeans - reported to front desk but no offers to clean ???

I didn’t like the services at beaches. All my friends hated it. As a 4/5 star resort, everything was disgusting. Staff rude and will not go extra mile to satisfy their customers. A guest has to figure their way out without any directions. It’s frustrating when you are new to the resort. At the beach and needed towels. One employee told me there are no towels and end of story. Begged her to try to call someone to help and she refused. She asked me to take the elevator to the 4th floor and find someone for a towel. Simple phone call to the right department would have been appropriate since the phone was right there.

This resort was simply OK. We traveled with children so it worked for the kids but for the adults they fell short. The bar was not stocked with premium alcohol and at night time they were doing repairs on the pool which made it unavailable. as far as food is concerned I would stick to the restaurant located by the pool because the other restaurants are not so great in my opinion. Or maybe try some of the local restaurants for great Jamaican food. The rooms in the Greek concierge were tightly packed with furniture so it did not allow for a lot of moving around. I just think they can do a better job at this resort. I would not stay again.

The grounds were kept up very nicely. Communication between sister resorts was very bad and there was almost a mix up in my check out date and I almost did have a room for my last night's stay

We just returned home from a 6 night family stay and we didnt want to leave, we loved Jamaica and we loved Beaches Ochos Rios, the pools, spa, water sports, staff, beach, everything was absolutely amazing. We cant wait to return and want to try other Beaches properties as well, maybe Negril next time!

The picturesque views and friendly staff who made sure you knew they were there for anything you needed to make your stay enjoyable. Everyone enjoyed the food, the entertainment, the beach, water slides and watersports. We will definitely return for our 5th time in the near future. Great family vacation!

Resort was terrible as everything took so long and was so inconvenient. My room was not what I paid for. The dishes in the restaurants were dirty. The food was bad most times. I also had to come out of pocket with $180 to pay for a taxi because no information was provided to me in regards to my transportation. Out photo shoot was terrible as well. I will never stay again. The rooms were hot as the AC units are old.

Beach sand needed to be redone fabric and large rocks coming up. Room advertised as sleeping 5, we needed two roll aways taking up most of the room. Hotel seems to be getting old and in need of some sprucing up, not what we expected for 4.5 stars. All except 2 staff members were excellent.

Our room faced the area that had teenager activities and it was loud. You could constantly hear people running to this area. We could also hear other hotel doors open & close almost like an echo. Housecleaning never showed up until the end of the day when we were coming back to relax. One day I asked them to give us 10 minutes but they never came back. So we only got our room cleaned 1 day of the 5 we were there

We ended up in Jamaica after Irma devastated the island/resort we were originally scheduled to stay at. First and foremost the folks working at the resort were AWESOME! Very accommodating, nice, friendly and just lovely to be around. The resort itself seemed a little tired and there were quite a few feral cats around. There is a lot of concrete and not you are pretty restricted in the movement. The problem was the 2 hour ride to get there, the people grabbing your stuff at the airport (to and from) and demanding money aka 'tips' to get them back, etc. At the resort local vendors had set up displays of trinkets and such for people to buy and you had to walk through this every time you go to the main pool, we found this very uncomfortable and ended up finding back ways to get there. If you stray of the Beaches designated beach there are people waiting to pounce and sell you stuff... this was just a different experience for us than visits to other Beaches resorts.

All-inclusive, no tips allowed resort
It was a bit strange not tipping the staff, though some of them insisted on it. I was told the hotel has a no-tips policy. There are three main restaurant options - Neptunes on the water, Bar BQ above the pool, and The Venetian (Italian, same limited menu every evening). There's also a breakfast & lunch area that most guests use daily called Bayside. If you don't reserve a table two days in advance, chances are you'll wait about 40 mins to be seated. The resort was at 97% occupancy when we visited. Everyone that worked at the restaurants were very friendly and socialized with us and the kids. Some room service staff however were not as nice - complained about not being allowed in to clean the room when we were napping. I killed a small roach, a centerpede, and a large cop cop ant inside the room before my family could discover them. I expected this since these insects naturally occur in these areas. I expected it to be more windy, but for some reason this resort doesn't seem to get ocean breeze. The only place you feel a slight breeze is on the walkway to the 4th floor elevator to descend to the beach. For the kids, there are Sesame Street performers...they mingle with you and do a few shows each day. My daughter loved it! There are local vendors on specific days - so if you see something you like I advise getting it right away, don't wait.

Resort was "ok" not what I expected for the cost..
Over the years I have heard several great reviews about Sandal's/Beaches Resorts. So I was expecting the visit to Beaches to excellent. Unfortunately that was not the case. Upon arrival we were presented with a very informal check in that left us confused and irritated. We arrived around 7:00 PM and were handed tablets to put our information into for check in. After we waited several minutes to return out tablet we finally were directed where out room was. The food 3 star... bland and un-exciting. The staff in the restaurants were pretty attentive and I don't have many complaints about that. Pool and beach service was hit or miss. Someday we had several servers come up to us to take order within minutes of each other and at other times we couldn't find a servers and had to grab our own. The reason for the trip was to attend my brothers wedding. The wedding was scheduled to end at 10:00 PM. At 9:30 the staff started cleaning up table, taking drinks away, moving tables and chairs and packing up. We all felt that it was very unprofessional to start doing this before the end time of a wedding celebration. We did not bring our children so I can't speak about the children services offered. Needless to say we were disappointed in several aspect of this vacation.

Small- weather terrible.
If your planning on going to Jamaica- book Negril! After seeing the resort ( which was clean, but a very small beach area and horrible weather) we requested to be moved to Negril. The staff was extremely helpful and very nice-they gave us trans.to Beaches, Negril at no cost. I learned that Ocho Rios is normally cloudy- and you cannot view the sunsets b/c of the mountain. As soon as we were about an hour from Ocho Rios-the sun came out! The food is just ok at both resorts- and the beds are not comfortable at all. But the weather in Negril is great- beach is beautiful-staff friendly and sunsets amazing ! FYI Ocho Rios is a 2 hour drive from the airport- and Beaches in Negril is about an hour and a half from the airport !

Great Time at Beaches Ocho Rios in Jamaica
I traveled with my husband and two girls ages 9 & 10. We stayed in a "Greek Oceanfront Terrace Suite". We had a king bed and the girls slept on the couch pull out bed (It seemed comfortable). We had a great view of the ocean and there was minimal noise. We snorkled, kayaked and sailed on the Hobie Catamaran. The food was execellent at the buffet and the resturants. We ate at every resturant during our stay. You can't go wrong were ever you eat. The girls ate self serve ice cream and slushies all day from the snack bar. We spent time on the beach, the waterpark and the main pool daily. The kids took pictures with Elmo, Grover and Cookie Monster. It was a great family vacation.

We booked two rooms with two double beds each and were given two rooms with king beds and a sofa bed. If I had known that in advance, we would have stayed elsewhere. Though the meals were sufficiently plentiful, the food quality (lunch and dinner) was mediocre at best. Still, the staff was fabulous.

Family get away
Jamaica is always a great place to visit. Great weather and beaches. I was overall very happy with the all inclusive hotel. Food was good with good choices. Rooms were beautiful, comfortable and well furnished. enjoyable water sports. If I would change one thing is the entertainment. Evening entertainment was geared towards very little kids and their parents. More shows at night with live music or entertainers would be great. More live music during the day would also be a plus. For the entertainment they can take some tips from the cruise industry. Similar to cruises you are a captive audience.

Dream Vacation!
The hotel was beautiful, grounds were well kept, and the staff was amazing. They took care to remember our names, even in the dining rooms and bars! Finding space on the beach can be a bit arduous unless you grab a towel and a chair at 6 AM, but the hotel was at full capacity during our entire stay, so I guess it was to be expected.

The resort staff were excellent. They were always friendly and helpful. The resort had a lot of activities for the children to take part in. The food was very good and there was a lot of variety to choose from. Our room was dreadful. The view out our patio door was a blue wall because our room was in the corner of the resort and we were sharing our patio with the next room. It caused our room to be dark because the sun did not shine in. You could also hear everything and anyone that was in the hallway.

Had a Great time
We just returned home and it was my sons first trip out of the country, it was a long drive there but well worth it. It was nice to not have to figure out how much to tip all the time. They have a tone of activities for children and families, I don't think it is much of an (adult) resort, they are more family oriented which was great for us. Whoopie, Dice and the rest of the entertainment staff do a great job. My son is 14 and met a ton of new friends from all over, the staff was wonderful, Dwight and Arron at the swim up bar are the best bartenders, friendly with everyone and great with the children. The beach is a little smaller than pictured but it is very clean, we had our own snorkeling gear so did a lot of water sightseeing. If you go off the resort or to the edges you are confronted by alot of pushy people trying to sell things, but that is their livelihood, and you get it most everywhere you go touristy. Food was good, not alot of choices, but they were good. Rooms were clean. Would recommend the Dune buggy, Dunns River Falls and Bob Marley tours, worth every penny. Overall had a great time and would go back tomorrow.

Fantastic Vacation for all of us!!!
My two teenage boys (ages 15 and 13), my husband, and I have just returned from Beaches Boscobel resort.This resort is everything their website says it is. The staff are courteous, helpful, & friendly. The room (Beachfront Honeymoon Suite) was spacious enough for the pullout sofa & a roll away bed with dancing room to spare! The maid service was first rate daily & our fridge was stocked at all times including the requested bottle of champagne for on the beach mimosas. Our porch was big enough for us to have our morning coffee or an afternoon snack while watching the world go by. We were indeed just steps from the beach.As for watersports, there were plenty of kayaks & hobie cat sail boats to go around. If you don't know how to sail, one of the water sport staff were eager to take anyone out for a sail. We told them we knew how & were able to go out a few times on our own, no problem. What a gorgeous place to sail!!!! We brought our own goggles so getting masks & such was not an issue & I'm not sure if they had them to use at the beach but we did use their equipment for our 2 snorkeling trips.Our room came with concierge service & we used this to get into various excursions like the concierge only snorkeling & glass bottom boat ride. All of this is included & you are not expected to tip anyone. Once you get to the resort, tip the driver of the shuttle then put your cash away unless you're buying souveniers.The breakfast buffet, the bbq shacks jerk chicken, the arizona, the the venetian were all quite good but our fav was the Arizona. This resort is well worth it!

The entire staff is attentive and strives to assist you before you even ask
From the moment we arived we were made to feel at ease. The bell man met the van and told us to relax we were guests. He sorted the luggage by room and gave us every confidence that all bags would arive at the proper room. At the reservation desk we were greated by an over accomidating recieptionist who assured us she would escort each of us to our rooms. The bell man then returned with fruit punch or rum punch for everyone. We were walked to our rooms and given an explanation of the various amenities mini frig, air conditioning control fan control. The grounds are lovely and well maintained. Plenty of accomidating dinning options, and a variety of pools including a water park with slides and rope ladders. The hotel had our return flight information and we were givin the time to be in the lobby for pick-up, never a worry.

Food was good and the rooms were clean. When it rained the hallways flooded. The bars swarmed with bees during day light hours and the staff did nothing about them. It is a family resort so children were running all over the resort. We went out on the glass bottom boat but saw no fish. If you wanted a decent wine with dinner, there was an extra charge. It is an older resort and shows its age.

Fun trip and got what we paid for.
Look, no one should be fooled that this is a four star resort because it is not, but the price isn't either. The beach is very small but clean and well maintained. The beds aren't exactly pillow top mattresses but they were comfortable enough to sleep in and the rooms were very clean. Hot water was sparse but with temps in the 90's, we didn't mind. The food in the main buffet was not bad but nothing to cheer about, however; the food in the other restaurants was surprisingly excellent especially the Italian restaurant and even the steaks at the Arizona were great. The pool was nice and not too over crowded and the pool bar was great. Red stripes flow freely all day. Our kids are a little older but still had fun on the slides and took full advantage of the water sports. They rode the banana boats over and over, we used the catamarans and water bikes. We even went out on the snorkeling trip. It was a very short trip but I was more than pleasantly surprised with the sea life that we saw. I played golf and the course was great and they provided a very helpful and friendly caddy. The service made the trip worth it and everyone there is remarkably friendly. They say no tipping but a few extra ones in your pocket is still greatly appreciated. It is true that outside the resort you will get a lot of pushy people trying to sell you just about anything so if that bothers you then go to Florida and skip Jamaica but you'll never get to meet * or * and that would be a shame. Lighten up and have some fun Mon!

Just got back & I will never go back - the resort is nothing like the pictures they have on their web site. There's no beach whatsoever & if you like swimming goodluck bc they have it roped off at waist high. Out of the 4 restaurants they offered 2 were ok, 2 were absolutely disgusting - the food wasn't bad but the pigeon & chickens everywhere along with their droppings can turn any stomach. We were supposed to have an oceanfront view but what we got instead was 6' piece of plywood to our left and a huge palm tree right in front. Couldn't see the ocean at all. If you are single and looking for something to do good luck bc there's no night life at the resort & if you wanted ot go outside the resort it has to be at their set times & they don't recommend taking a cab bc your safety isn't guarenteed - NICE!!! This is a nice place for children but not for anyone over 18. I will say though the staf was incredible very pleasnat.

We travel all over the Caribbean, We were here June of 2008. The hotel was ok, but my son who is 13 was at the waterpark, and was harassed by people who yelled at him through the fence wanting money. The fence is maybe 20 feet from the slides. There are peoples shacks on the other side and they attempt to talk to you through the fence. There is security at night, would not suggest going on the beach at night. The resort is narrow, and long. If you have asthma, or a heart condition, this hotel is not for you. It is by-level and you have to walk tons of stairs or wait over 10 minutes on the slowest elevator in the world. If you enjoy a good beach this beach is nice, but not much of it. Very narrow resort. Slides are shut down at 5pm, so if you have teens, sesame street is not much for entertainment. Did not feel safe letting them leave to go on there own. From one to ten, I give our vacation a 4. I would stay at another Beaches maybe in Negril.
