Installez-vous confortablement avec quelqu'un de spĆ©cial devant la cheminĆ©e en pierre taillĆ©e Ć  la main dans notre grande salle spacieuse. Profitez d'une suite parentale king-size avec un balcon personnel pittoresque donnant sur la riviĆØre Toccoa.

Recevoir est facile dans notre cuisine entiĆØrement Ć©quipĆ©e, comprenant une cuisiniĆØre Ć  gaz, un four micro-ondes, un moulin Ć  cafĆ©, des comptoirs personnalisĆ©s, un garde-manger walk-in, un wet-bar et un frigo-bar sĆ©parĆ©s, des ensembles complets de couteaux et d'ustensiles de cuisine. Ou cuisinez dehors sur notre grill au charbon. Rassemblez-vous autour de l'Ć®lot de cuisine tout en prĆ©parant le dĆ®ner, ou autour de la tĆ©lĆ©vision et de la cheminĆ©e dans la grande salle connectĆ©e. DĆ®nez Ć  l'intĆ©rieur ou Ć  l'extĆ©rieur en utilisant l'une de nos deux tables Ć  dĆ®ner pour 8 personnes.

We came up for a quick two night getaway and had a wonderful time. The place was very dog friendly and had more than enough space to move around. There isnā€™t really a yard but the river is right across the small street so we just took our walks over there. Our dogs and toddler loved playing in the river but we spent more of our time on one of the porches. There are A LOT of stairs so just be aware of that.

This property was great! The house was clean and comfortable! Plenty of room for our family of 5 and our fur babies! We loved the firm mattress in the master bedroom. Our girls said their beds were comfortable as well. We loved the stone countertops and showers. The hot tub was a bonus. The owners were great and we were able to get checked in a little early and we were able to enjoy extra time at the property! We had an issue with the key (my fault) and the owner was very helpful and understanding. We will be staying at this property again! Thanks for a great stay!!

Location great. Close enough to town and all of the fishing/hiking that we wanted to do. Very clean and the amount of space was perfect for us. Very limited supplies in the kitchen. If you plan on cooking bring all the extras that you may need (foil, anything for storage, spices etc.) Hot tube did not work, which was a satisfaction deal breaker for my husband. Very uncomfortable beds. Bring your own camping chairs if you want to sit by the river which is right across the street.

Very nice property, we had a great time on the areas around the home hiking, fishing, and exploring. Be sure to visit the welcome center in town. We appreciate the hosts responsiveness on issues. It was great to be able to have our dog with us.

The property was absolutely beautiful with a gorgeous view of the Taccoa River. The bathrooms were spacious and the beds were comfortable. The stone fireplace made everything cozy! There were quite a bit of steps to climb which was worth the work out! Our van didnā€™t quite make it up the driveway due to how steep it was but there was parking available at the bottom on the side which worked out fine. We were only about 5-10 minutes to Walmart and grocery stores. The cabin was beautiful and our family and pup loved it! We will definitely be back.

Pros: The cabin is cute and cozy with a beautiful scenic river view and accessibility. It has plenty of space for a small family, and finding somewhere that takes dogs is helpful when traveling with your pets. It is located on a quiet street and conveniently located to everything. Cons: It is dirty, inside and out. The carpets and bedding were stained and smelly. There were dead bugs, lady bugs and flies through the whole house, the vents have about 2ā€ of dust on them along with everything else, the windows were stained and the furniture had dog hair on it when we got there . There were large nest of something on the vents on the outside patios and it just felt unsanitary. Also, there were no brooms, mops or cleaning supplies to cleanup with. If I were the owner I would deep clean the property, remove the carpets (especially when hosting pets) and get a NEW cleaning company.

Cabin is beautiful, nice decoration, shuffleboard game, kitchen and living room, cabin location is also good, however will be a place we would not return. Every year we go to the mountains with kids and this was the only cabin we would not return, so we were bit disappointed with these points: sofa bed mattress is terrible and wasn't clean, several kitchen drawers were dirty, we didn't like the bed clothing smell and organization, we found a lighter in the hot bathtub, the master bedroom mattress and in general all other ones should be replaced in our opinion and experience, coffee mugs were found dirty, all TV remote control do not work on the TV, etc. There were lots of things that adding together made our experience not good as we were expecting by seen the reviews and photos.

I can not say enough how beautiful this home and location was. It was so much more beautiful than the pictures. The home had everything you need for a long stay from the kitchen to towels and more. My kids had a blast fishing, playing the many board games by the fire place, sā€™mores and scary stories by the fire pit. We were all so sad to leave. Only thing to be aware of is the very steep driveway but that seems to be the norm in that area.. mountains and all lol we canā€™t wait to go back!

The view every morning to the river was awesome and you could hear it if you open the windows it was so close. Just a short walk down to the river for some sā€™mores and good times! The rooms were spacious and it is about a 15 minute drive to downtown!

Such an awesome house! Exactly as shown in pictures and right next to the river. We enjoyed being close to town, yet in a quiet, relaxing area next to some great hiking and outdoor activities. The hot tub and shuffleboard were fun! Super easy check in/out process and very easy communication with owners. We would absolutely stay here again!

We had an amazing visit at the Hippopotamus Haven! The hosts were lovely and prompt to answer all of our questions, making us feel very comfortable from the start. The cabin is absolutely perfect! It is located just off the beaten path with complete privacy. It has all of the amenities necessary for a week with the family. Access to the Toccoa River was perfect. We enjoyed quick trips into town for supplies and to enjoy the local shops, restaurants and the local brewery. It was an enjoyable visit and we will definitely return to this hidden gem! Wonderful property! Beautiful scenery. Huge windows looking out at the river. Itā€™s quiet and peaceful. If you bring your pet(s), just be mindful that ticks are very prominent in the area. No issues inside the house, just when walking in the high grass or against bushes. I would definitely stay again if I am vacationing in the area.

This place was advertised as being right on the river with chairs and bonfire, but there was none of that. There were also cigarettes, dirt, and hair balls. The hot tub wasnā€™t hot at all and didnā€™t work, so we couldnā€™t use this really, which is one of the main reasons we come here and to hike. The stairs Outback had rotted wood and we almost tripped. We did trip on the deck several times as there are holes in the deck. The sound of the river was really nice and relaxing
