Le Chalet on High Meadows est un chalet de style europĂ©en au design artistique nichĂ© dans un haut prĂ© des Black Hills dans l'ouest du Dakota du Sud. Ce chalet de location de vacances bĂ©nĂ©ficie d'un prĂ© paisible et surplombe la forĂȘt nationale de Black Hills Ă  environ 10 miles au nord-ouest de Rapid City. Il est idĂ©alement situĂ© Ă  l'ouest de l'autoroute I-90 entre Rapid City et Sturgis, Dakota du Sud. L'accĂšs facile permet aux visiteurs de profiter des meilleurs Ă©vĂ©nements et attractions tout en profitant du calme du cadre naturel.

Profitez de l'ouverture du plan d'étage, de la proximité avec la nature et de la beauté simple qui entoure le Chalet. Lovely Chalet, with a lot of character. Quiet neighborhood with good distance between the neighbors around you. Enjoyed the tennis court and chess. Everything we needed was in the house. Would definitely recommend to others!

Beautiful place. The spiral staircase is a bit challenging. But we knew about that up front. Other than that it was a wonderful experience. The host was very accommodating person. The views from the property are spectacular.

Cute and Cozy!

This cottage was so cut and cozy, it is like you stepped into a whimsical storybook. (And wine when we arrived was a nice surprise after a long drive). Very clean, and was nice to have amenities available if we chose to use them. Would definitely recommend!

Peace and comfort!

The Chalet offered us everything we were looking for. Peace and comfort after a exploring all the Black Hills had to offer. Becci was the ultimate host, she even left us a bottle of wine for us to enjoy as we celebrated our anniversary! Highly recommend this retreat away from it all!

Motorcycle getaway

Very clean, cozy, eclectic A-frame. 2 comfortable sleeping areas though neither has full walls so it really is “open concept”. Loved watching the wildlife off the deck. Fairly centrally located though I missed the “maintained road” reference and was a bit surprised at the 2 mile steep dirt road though the road was well maintained and we didn’t have any issues.

Relaxing Getaway

The Chalet is just as advertised - you can hear the silence, and the birds as well as the breeze through the pine trees. Located close to tourist sights, host and hostess very friendly and accommodating, comfortable beds, was a relaxing stay:)

Chalet in the Black Hills

We had a great stay with Becci and Colin at their Chalet. Property was as advertised and we enjoyed using the hot tub and tennis court. Beds were super comfy and we had all we needed in the kitchen to prepare breakfasts and lunches after a quick trip to grocery store. We enjoyed takeout for dinner from Neighbors Grub and Pub and had a great steak meal at Dakotas Steak House. We loved the nature all around and the great selection of books on property. It was a good central location from which to visit Mt. Rushmore, the Badlands, and Deadwood/Lead. Would recommend an all wheel drive for trip up hill to property. Thanks for a terrific time!

Tranquil, wooded get-a-way

This is a beautiful, peaceful, wooded property, often visited by deer and wild turkey. The chalet itself is so quaint and lovely and was way beyond my expectations, with a fully furnished kitchen, bathroom, grill, gazebo, deck, books, two large tvs and dvd player, etc. It is an open concept, so no doors on the bedrooms, so if there is a snorer, bring your earplugs. There is a large spiral staircase leading to a spacious, beautifully appointed, two double bed loft, with another lovely bedroom on the main floor, separated from the cozy living room by some large, antique, wooden screens. The gorgeous bathroom is also on the main floor and you do need to walk through the bedroom to access it, but no need to climb stairs if the staircase is not navigable for certain members of your group. The loft was plenty spacious for the two pack and plays we needed for the two babies. There are lovely antiques around, but fortunately our two little ones did not seem to be drawn to those as we brought plenty of toys to occupy them. We also brought a couple of baby gates to keep them off of the staircase. The host has provided a book which lists plenty of hiking opportunities, and there is a lovely backyard, hot tub, tennis court, rackets and tennis balls. Shoes must come off before coming into the chalet, so bring a pair of slippers as the floors are a beautiful wood that can be a bit chilly on old toes, (mine). I highly recommend this lovely property and host, and hope to return someday!

College friends reunion after 25+ years!

We started the trip with an unexpected visit to the ER (nothing to do with the chalet). Still, all ended up well and we enjoyed spending the rest of the time together listening to music, cooking, and reminiscing. Travel was put on hold but that was okay because we had all the comforts of home. Becci checked to make sure we had what we needed and we felt very pampered.

Pleasant stay

Overall we had a pleasant stay in the little Chalet. The owner Becci very friendly, and on top of things. We had some issues with a beeping smoke detector and the thermostat, and she got it fixed within an hour of our arrival! The house lays beautifully on top of a hill in a very quiet and spread-out neighborhood. Unfortunately it was already too cold to use the outdoor space. The chalet was very clean, the kitchen stocked, the bed was comfortable, and the bathroom had a good size with enough towels. The sink though is really low, and the shower (a converted bathtub) was downright dangerous, because it was so slippy, and the shower head so low, that my 6,2" husband really struggled to take a decent shower. And one thing I really need to point out here is, that the whole house, except for the bathroom, is one big room! It is mentioned that it has an open floor plan, but that usually does not mean that there are no separated bedrooms whatsoever. So if someone sleeps upstairs, they have to turn on the light to manage the narrow spinal stairs,which means the whole house is lighted, and needs to walk past the beds down stairs in order to go to the restroom! Also, if you are a light sleeper, this house might not be for you. Because everything is so open you hear the fridge humming, a clock ticking, and the stairwell releasing tension at night quite loud, among other noises. But since it was just two of us, the house worked fine, and we spend a very relaxing week in SD!

75th Birthday surprise road trip

We 3 sisters absolutely loved our 5-night stay! The chalet is so charming! Fully furnished kitchen, very clean, comfy beds, and luxuriant towels! We enjoyed the hot tub too! The written instructions were very helpful! One downstairs bedroom was very handy for the eldest of the group. There is only one bathroom but we managed just fine. The spiral staircase added to the charm (my 71-year-old sister hung on for dear life, but it was manageable. We would completely recommend The Chalet!

Great Time

We had a great time at The Chalet. This was our first time in South Dakota and we loved it. The Chalet was nicely situated between all the places we wanted to visit and we loved coming back to a peaceful getaway to relax in the evenings. It was the perfect place all around.

Lovely little Chalet

I’m scared to leave a glowing review because I’d love to keep this little gem a secret! It was perfect for our little getaway to the Black Hills. Super clean and well stocked, cozy and cute. The host thought of everything
even floss samples in the bathroom. It was nice to have all the tourist guides to look through as well. We saw a lot of deer and turkey on the drive to and from the chalet and in the evenings while sitting in the hot tub. The hosts live on the property, but there is enough distance to feel secluded. Host was very responsive and kept in great contact, checking to make sure we had Eve thing we needed and directions/check in/out. We will definitely stay here again!
