Vista Cottage, Pup Friendly, Spa, Grill, walk to lake

Delightful 3 bedroom, 1 bath cabin in a great location on a quiet street. Downstairs bedroom has a queen and the upstairs bedrooms have a king and 2 queens for a good nights sleep. The living room has a Smart TV for streaming and a great fireplace for a warm night in. Fully stocked kitchen, just bring your groceries. The backyard has a nice deck with grill to enjoy the great Big Bear sunsets. (9/3/2020 hot tub added! Pics coming soon!) 5 minute walk to the lake, 1 mile from the village and 3 from snow summit.

Covid Info 2/4/21- current date 2021- We are still permitted to allow guests into our home. Outdoor activities are operating (lift tickets purchase online, limited availability). Restaurants are only takeout or delivery. There are a few extra restrictions.
1-Groceries should be purchased at your local store prior to traveling. This will reduce the strain on our community.
2-Absolutely no parties.
3-Please follow and respect guidelines set regarding social distancing and masks.
4-Spa hours are 7A-10P (we don't like it either, but its a restriction placed upon us.)

Violation of the restrictions will result in eviction without refund.

Our strict cancellation policy is still in affect. Any cancellations requesting full refund, will need to provide proper documentation to the hosting site(SavvyBears, Airbnb, Vrbo). We will NOT cancel your reservation for you.

All requests to change date, must be done a minimum of 14 days before your stay. Prices may change due to change of date.

If you instant book, you assume responsibility that all restrictions will be followed. We will not be responsible for any eviction, fine, or inconvenience due to disregarding the restrictions placed for Big Bear Lake and Big Bear City.

Welcome to Vista Cottage! Located in a quiet area of Big Bear Lake, within walking distance to the lake, yet still very close to all that Big Bear has to offer.

Vista Cottage is 900 sq ft, with 3 bedrooms all with room darkening curtains (1 on the main level, 2 upstairs) . 1 full bathroom, kitchen, large yard, and a deck with views of the sunset. Almost all you need to enjoy your stay is provided, including wifi. More on the space below!

Parking- 2 cars are allowed to be on property. All parking is only in driveway, no street parking allowed.

Living area- has a reclining couch, and love seat. 55' TV with Roku access to stream all your favorite apps/shows. Basic cable is also provided. With wifi throughout house.

Fireplace- We do not provide firewood; however if any is left in the home please feel free to use. If you are not familiar with starting fires, we recommend purchasing Duraflame logs. They last a long time, and are easy to maintain.

Kitchen- Is stocked with all dishes, utensils, bake ware, pots and pans. There is an apartment sized fridge, stove, microwave, coffee maker, and toaster. A starter pack of paper towels, dish soap, trash bags, sponge, sugar, coffee grounds, and filters are provided. We do like to leave basic condiments in the fridge.

Dining area- situated right off the kitchen and living room, with seating for 6 people. Plenty of space for games.

Bathroom- located on the main level. full shower/bath. We provide a blow dryer, shower gel, lotion, shampoo, and conditioner(located under sink), cotton balls, flossers, q tips, and of course toilet paper.. 5 bath towels, 1 hand towel, and 2 washcloths are provided for guest use. Please do not use our towels for lake use.

Bedrooms- all linen is provided. including extra blankets in dressers or closets.

Downstairs bedroom- has 1 queen sized bed, set of dresser drawers. It is located across hall from bathroom, and near patio door.

Upstairs bedrooms

Bedroom 1- King sized bed, and closet shelves for storage.

Bedroom 2- 2 queen sized beds and small dresser.

Some games, and extra blankets are provided in the closet between the bedrooms. Tower fans are provided as well for summer time.

Yard/Deck- located off the back of the home has great sunset views. seating for 4, and a propane grill. We provide the propane tank. However if it is empty, please switch it out, and we will reimburse the cost. (Lake View Market is under a mile away) The yard has a partially 3 ft chainlink fence. Be mindful for the safety of your pets.

Hot Tub- Large 6 person hot tub. Spa hours are 7A-10P. Violation of these times can result in eviction and fine.

Cleaning fee- $135
Covers basic cleaning, laundering of linens, and hot tub maintenance after each guest This does not cover if trash is left behind. It is a unique custom in Big Bear trash drop off is free. If you choose not to bring all trash to the refuse, there will be a $25 charge per bag the cleaners must take to the site. We apologize for the inconvenience. (we do seasonal deep cleans, and extra items as needed)

Pets- We love all types of animals; however due to prior experiences and potential allergies. We only allow 2 dogs. We do not charge any extra up front pet fees. The only pet fees charged is if they are not cleaned up after, or ruin something on property. Poop bags are provided. Any poop left behind is charged per pile. Any urine/poop in the home is also charged per spot. Please be respectful of our home and make sure to bring only well trained pups. accidents happen, please clean up asap.

Refundable deposit $300

Check in as early as 4pm. Check out is 10am. Please be prompt. The cleaner occasionally shows up exactly at check out. There will be an extra $100 fee if they arrive and must wait or come back. We can occasionally accommodate early or late check outs; however they are VERY limited.

Please note in winter months: The roads are plowed regularly, but you may need 4x4 vehicle and chains. We are not responsible for any weather related travel issues.

Thomas is very diligent about the snow removal during winter months. You will most likely run into him during your stay. They are non invasive, quick, and courteous. Thomas is on his own route and timeline. We do not guarantee it will be done before check out or check in. He will be by after the storm has passed.

Occupancy (5 including children & infants) and car limit(2) are set by the city. They will enforce theses. If found to have more than we are licensed for, you may be evicted with no refund. So please adhere to these limitations.

Upon Check Out
Wash all dirty dishes (leave drying in dish rack)
Pick up and dispose of dog poop
Pick up any cigarette butts, or trash in the yard.
Leave used beds unmade
Place all trash into bins. The lid MUST close completely. If it does not, trash must be brought to local trash dump site. It’s a city rule for short term rentals. Address included in check in details. Failure to do so will result in a per bag charge. No exceptions. (our homeowners abide by this rule when they stay)

Keypad code- City of Big Bear Lake requires their Good Neighbor Policy to be signed prior to gaining access to the home. The person booking the home MUST sign, no exceptions. Declining to sign will result in no access to the home, & cancellation of reservation with no refund. GNP can be found in our listing along with the break down of our agreement. Agreement is sent in a link for virtual signature in welcome message.

Code will be sent day of check in. Once the home is ready or at 4pm, whichever is first.

If traveling in winter, we highly suggest purchasing trip insurance! We have a strict cancellation policy and will stand by it. Winter months can be challenging with snow, ice, road closures, and other things. Cover yourself by purchasing the trip insurance.

No refund will be made for cancellation due to weather, road conditions, acts of nature, mechanical failures, electrical failures or malfunctions with spas, TVs or other equipment, or for sighting of insects, rodents, or other animals. No refunds will be made for circumstances beyond the Homeowner’s control. Rescheduling is allowed if all roads have been closed into the area for 24 hours of check in time. Chains are often required and should be always carried. They may be needed to get in or out of Big Bear or your rental.

Pets-We allow 2 dogs at this property with $50 nonrefundable pet fee . No other types of animals are allowed. Additional fees apply only if there is damage or cleaning issues due to dogs. You are responsible for your pets and their safety.

Cleaning Fee- non negotiable. This covers clean linens, cleaning of bathrooms, kitchen, floors, basic care of the home, and spa chemical balance. This does not cover left trash, excessive messes, and cleaning all dirty dishes. The home has deeper clean items that happen 2-3x a year.

Spa-is maintained after every guest. The cleaning fee covers basic chemical balancing. This does NOT cover if the spa is misused, resulting in a drain and refill.
